3 B apt Condado/La Placita
Description
Walk everywhere-- 3 bedroom, 2nd floor apartment located in Condado, the heart of Santurce-- steps away from beach, supermarket, organic market, hotels and casinos, museum, cinema, and La Placita- Plaza Mercado de Santurce. Only 10 minute drive from San Juan airport, Old San Juan, San Juan Marina/ Club Nautico and the Convention Center. Hang out in Calle Loiza, Ocean Park, and Laguna, or enjoy the night life and restaurants of Condado and the famous "Placita" with live music and street fest. The space Our house is a tropical art deco that still has scars from Maria. We're working to repair and restore the building and property, which is a multigenerational family home. We have included some typical Puerto Rican items in the kitchen like a tostenera and greca. The neighborhood is fairly safe and centrally located. Guests do not really need a car and can walk to some of the most vibrant areas in the city-- or only a short scooter, bike or uber ride away! Other sections of the Metro area are also accesible by bus and metro train for the urban adventurers. Guest access The apartment is on the second floor, and right now the 3 bedrooms, living room, dining area, kitchen, bathroom, and small front balcony are for guests use. The 3rd bedroom has a bunk bed, full bed with a twin top. A locked laundry room in back has a washer and detergent. We still need to clean and paint and install a dryer, but washed clothes can be hung on poles. We also have a narrow side yard (to left facing street) where guests can use the hose after the beach, and rinse out a cooler. There are a few coolers of different sizes for the beach available for use that we keep there as well. There's also several planters of decent size aloe plants, that guests are free to cut a branch off for soothing sunburns or mixing in a smoothie. The "field" yard is to the right (facing street) through a gate that has locked off-street parking. Guests can also go out there if they want; there is a little barbecue area in the back at end of pathway that is very "rustic". But, our dogs are out there often, so that may limit the use of the space, but guests can feel free to sit out there such as if they need to smoke. We usually have some string lights on at night. We only want guests on the premises, so gatherings are not allowed in the yard areas. Other things to note We have lived here for over twenty years; my husband is from San Juan, and I am from the states. We are a working family and have a high schooler in the home. We are still making repairs from Hurricane Maria, so the house still has a way to go before it is fully restored. We have started with our second floor apartment , which has had extensive repairs. But it is an old house and we do our best to make sure everything is operational. Our neighborhood is residential though close enough to the action of La Placita and Condado, and in front of the tunnel, so there's often a lot of city noise. Still, we'd like our guests to be relaxed, peaceful, and respectful of the neighborhood. We also have pets ( 2 dogs and 3 cats) and the cats do hang around outside the house and 1 of them may try to get up to the balcony (we have screened the gate, but she climbs on the roof). The dogs are friendly yet may bark at strangers at first, but they are always kept inside or out in the fenced yard area.
