Add something amazing to your list with a stay in this beautifully repurposed shed room nestled beside one of Australia’s most pristine rivers on a gorgeous permaculture based organic vegetable farm. The space The Chateau du Shed is located exactly halfway in between the beautiful coastal town of Moruya and the quaint inland town of Braidwood. The property has no direct neighbours and is surrounded entirely by National Park. This is not a room in town or a tent in a paddock, it is a funky glamping experience on a stunning bush farm a world away from the hustle and bustle of normal life. There are over 2.5kms of river to explore (that entirely border the property) and the shed is located in the middle of a fully functioning organic fruit and vegetable farm. Nature views in every direction and an abundance of native wildlife only add to the experience. The shed room itself is entirely off-grid, captures its own rainwater and has a standalone composting toilet. It has been tastefully decked out with recycled timber, a slow combustion stove and incorporates a loft double bed perfect for children or tag along friends. Features include outside kitchen, shower, cast iron bath (under the stars) and orchard views. There is also free wifi and a smart tv for those who need to stay connected but the flick of a switch will totally disconnect you from the outside world. A fridge, bbq and coffee making essentials are also provided. There is a 30 metre walk to the vegetable garden and a 50 metre walk to a private swimming hole on the river. Lull nights away listening to the rumble of the river outside the front door and spend days fishing for bass, exploring gold mines on the property, bushwalking or relaxing. Whatever activities you choose, you won’t be disappointed. Guest access Guests are free to roam the entire property and there is parking right outside your front door. Other things to note The shed is best suited to couples, or small families. The second bed (double) is in a loft and accessed via ladder. Additional bedding can be provided with prior arrangement. We live entirely off grid so guests are encouraged to minimise their environmental impact during their stay. As we have no council provided waste collection services, we also ask that guests take all (non food based) rubbish with them. Bins and bags are provided. To access the property you will have to travel on a (2wd) dirt road. The shed is located approximately 70 metres from the main house and as the property is a functioning farm, there may be farming life activities occuring.
