Our private, cozy little cottage is nestled into the side of Mt Uncanoonuc, with views all the way to Boston! It's a home away from home and offers all the amenities that our guests need. Just bring your personal items, and settle in for a beautiful and relaxing stay, undisturbed! Summit Getaway is a mountain top cottage available for nightly or weekly rentals. Nestled in the side of Mount Uncanoonuc, with easterly views of Manchester, NH and Boston. *Mount Uncanoonuc is located in Goffstown NH, and is only 15 minutes from Manchester! This will be a romantic getaway you won’t soon forget! This privately owned home has been meticulously renovated, resulting in a warm, cozy and comfortable cottage. We have so enjoyed this fantastic cottage, and the incredible tranquility, that we felt we needed to share this with other like minded people, who also have a great appreciation for nature. We are so anxious for you to come stay and experience the joy we have for many years! It is most conducive for people looking for quiet serenity and relaxation. If you are looking to party, you’re looking in the wrong place. We spent an extensive amount of time renovating and decorating this cottage. Our objective was to create a ‘feeling’ of comfort and homeyness. We want our guests, not just to appreciate the decor visually, but we want to evoke a feeling of peace and calm. We think we’ve achieved this objective, but, you be the judge! This fully furnished, 2 bedroom cottage sleeps 4 comfortably. You will have the cottage all to yourselves, unless you plan on bringing a couple friends. The quaint little kitchen will inspire you to whip up a hearty breakfast before heading to the many trails Mount Uncanoonuc boasts. The hiking trails literally begin steps from your door. Take a walk down the old Cog railroad bed and cool off with a swim in Mountain base pond. We provide you with a detailed trail map, to assist in your adventure. You won’t be for a loss of things to do. Whether you hike, bike, swim, go antiquing, shopping, movies, or you just want to kick back on our expansive deck overlooking our gorgeous view, you’ll have memories to last a lifetime! You will be given a combination for a keypad entry. We are available if you need anything. Please do not hesitate!! FAQ You are renting the entire house. No other people, including us, will be on the property during the duration of your stay. WINTER GUESTS Now, this is very important for winter guests. You absolutely have to have an All wheel, or 4 wheel drive vehicle. Though we do plow, snow blow, salt and sand, in the event we get a storm, a two wheel drive vehicle will not be able to get out. I've bent the rules a couple times, and we ended up towing people out. My husband was none too pleased with me ;) TERRAIN Now, I know this goes without saying, but, these houses are situated on TOP of a mountain, therefore, the roads are steep and hilly, even in the summer. I've gotten feedback that people were 'surprised' by this. :) So please be aware. INSECTS As you are aware, this house is situated on the top of a mountain and surrounded by thousands of acres of wooded conservation land. We do have an extermination company service all of our listings on a regular basis. For the most part there are virtually no issues with insects, except on occasion with Lady Bugs. Due to the elevation the entire town experiences an abundance of these little guys. During the spring and fall there are several days that they make an appearance on sunny days. Unfortunately they sometimes find their way inside, and due to a short life span will die. So, IF you have ANY issues with this then I would advise you NOT to rent. I personally am not bothered by this, and many people are not, but if you are then I would recommend another listing. PETS AND SMOKING Not allowed. Please do not contact asking me to make exceptions for your 'small well trained dog'. We are loving pet owners ourselves, but they are never allowed on the properties. We have many guests that have allergies to animals. SINGLE VS DOUBLE OCCUPANCY This seems to be a common question. 1-2 people is single occupancy. 3-4 people is double occupancy, which means the price doubles. Many people have argued that they are 'renting the whole house anyway'. To which I point out that they are getting a tremendous bonus, as our rate is comparable to that of a single room in a B&B. And, just like an airplane, though everyone is under the same roof, each person is charged individually. Hope that makes sense :). We do not permit “parties” such as weddings, family reunions, etc. The property simply isn’t conducive for this. All our listings were created as quiet, romantic getaways. EXTERIOR CAMERAS: We have one exterior camera which is capable of viewing the parking area and front door. We ask that you honor our occupancy rules so it’s not awkward for all of us. ;)
