Xan's Landing is a quiet waterfront getaway tucked into the woods with beautiful views of Whitehurst Creek. This cottage type home is located at the end of a long windy wooded lane and offers the feeling of complete seclusion. It is a great stay for fishermen and hunters as well as families looking for a place to unwind. There is a boat ramp nearby and short boat rides to both Cape Lookout and Shackleford Banks. This remote location is only 20 minutes from downtown Beaufort, NC. The house is a refurbished home from the 1970's with a large double living area including a large rustic wood burning fire place, a spacious dining room table and a large well stocked kitchen. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms; one master bedroom with a shower and a second bathroom with a large bathtub and shower. There is a covered porch, a charcoal grill, a fire pit and a sprawling lawn that leads to the water’s edge. I started a small vacation rental business a couple years ago and I am dedicated to my guest and making sure they have a wonderful experience during their vacation. Gloucester is a community located in what we in Carteret County call Down East. Each small community Down East is unique and very proud of their heritage of commercial fishing and making a living off the water. Down East extends all the way to Cedar Island where you can then take a 2-hour ferry ride to Ocracoke Island from which you can continue up the rest of the Outer Banks. There is a boat ramp nearby if you bring a boat or there are ferries that run from nearby Harker's Island taking passengers to Cape Lookout. Beaufort and Downtown Morehead are about a 20-minute drive where there are wonderful restaurants and shops.
