The cottage is a summer, rustic cottage tastefully and simply decorated with all the amenities you need, but not too many to be distracting! It's been a family summer cottage for almost 100 years. Don't worry, we've fixed the leaks in the roof since our days of putting pots and pans in the living room to catch the water. However, it is a summer cottage and not a villa or chalet! It was built 100 years ago by our great grandmother and is a summer cottage. Friendly spiders are not unusual, but can be ushered out without an issue. :-) ATTRACTIONS Spend your days sitting on the dock, fishing, reading, doing puzzles, playing games inside or BBQing. We spend full weeks at the cottage and only leave to go to the grocery store or get worms for fishing! You can also take advantage of the many attractions the finger lakes has to offer - from day trips to Ithaca and Buttermilk Falls to Keuka and Seneca Lake wine trails. This is in Amish country where you can enjoy fresh fruit stands and the best sweet corn in the state when in season. Vineyards: Search "Keuka Wine Trails" Fishing: Search "Finger Lakes Fishing" Hiking: Search "Finger Likes Hiking Trails" AMENITIES 3BR/1BA in the main cottage - 1 BR is off the front porch, has a full-size bed and a lake view. 2BR are off the living room and have sliding barn doors. Two bedrooms have a full-sized bed and the other has twin bunkbeds! There are also 2 twin beds in the room over the boathouse near the water. There is one bathroom with a stand-up shower in the main cottage, but the boathouse is separate from the cottage and is one large room. You have to exit and walk up to the main cottage to use the bathroom. It's perfect for teenagers and more privacy (we used to fit up to 11 cousins down there)! Fully functional and equipped kitchen at your disposal. Gas grill, dishes and silverware are there for your use. The cottage is set back from the road so this creates a large front yard perfect for putting up a volleyball net and playing with the family. We have ladder golf and croquet available per your request. We are on a busy road. The cottage is set back from it, but you will have to be careful letting young children run around. New in 2019 is a deck that overlooks the lake. Now you can spend your evenings watching the sun set from outside. We are in love with it and hope you are too! We have 3 kayaks for your use. There is a local marina where you can rent a boat for the week. We can give you more information if you are interested in that option. We love it here and hope you will too!
