Peaceful detached cottage with rural views

Hurlock Cottage is a gloriously light and quirky converted riding stables on the edge of Chudleigh in Devon. The upstairs sitting room has fabulous French windows which open completely to bring the lovely rural feeling inside. Perfectly located for the English Riviera coast and Dartmoor, Chudleigh also offers cafes, pubs, takeaways, shops and outdoor activities. The cottage is ideal for couples or families, having three bedrooms, a spacious kitchen/diner with play area, and parking. The space The kitchen/dining room and bathroom are the only rooms downstairs. There is a children's activities area in the kitchen which can be used with a table for games and crafts, or without the table as a soft play area. The lounge, bedrooms and a small shower room are upstairs. The long lounge window gives the room views of the countryside, and when open, some of the atmosphere of having a balcony. Bedroom one has a king size bed and space for a cot. Bedrooms two and three have twin single beds which have been specially designed to create comfortable large double beds. Bedroom two has standard length beds (190 cm, 6ft 3") and is next to bedroom one. Bedroom three has extra long beds (200 cm, 6 ft 6") and is next to the lounge. The window of bedroom two is frosted for your privacy, while the skylight brings in extra light and a view of the sky. Under the lounge and bedroom three is a covered area which can be used for parking, or play with the outdoor toys provided. This area has an outside seat which gets the sun all year round. Environmental issues are important to us so we've fully insulated the cottage and renovated the old damaged doors in order to save them. We've also refurbished furniture and made our own furniture using upcycled wood where possible. We made our cushions from recycled materials and some of their covers from fabric left over when we made the curtains. Guest access Chudleigh High street with pubs, cafes and shops is in easy walking distance. Playparks, the skate park and pump track are also nearby. There are buses from Chudleigh to Exeter, Newton Abbot and Bovey Tracey. In addition to parking at the cottage there is free parking available in Lawn Drive which is the road behind the house. There is a public car park in Chudleigh which charges during the day.
