Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway - off the beaten track, these cosy quarters offers a quiet farm stay. A 1 bedroom cosy self-contained unit 11kms off State Highway 2, on a gravel road. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of busy noisey life then this stay is for you. The space These are our quarters on our busy farm, it goes un-used for months on end and only generally is used a couple nights of the year for shepherds to stay in so they are close for the early mornings. My husband is the manager of the farm and I work in town as a teacher with my 3 young children. So we are giving it a go at air bnb’ing it out. It is in no means flash but it is comfortable. It has a plush queen bed with lovely sheets, brand new carpet, new tv with Netflix and Prime + other apps, new curtains and couch. Wifi is the main connectivity as there is minimal cell reception, the tv is a smart tv so you can chill and watch Netflix, bring a USB filled with movies or go and enjoy the outdoors. Gizzy is 1hr away, Mahia is 30mins away, hot pools is approx 15mins, the caves are a 5min drive down the road and a private waterfall is just down the ways as well. We are 11kms up the gravel road off state highway2. The Pukeorapa Quarters can sleep 2 adults comfortable with the possibility of a portacot added to the bedroom. We will supply body wash, wash powder, tea, coffee, sugar, oil, salt&Pepper and fresh farm eggs. Other than that please bring your own kai. Also available is a kettle, toaster, pots, pans, cutlery, bed sheets, towels, normal cleaning items. Please leave the quarters as you find them (no dirty dishes). Thank you. The cleaning fee covers, vacuuming, mopping, washing and drying of bed sheets and towels and general cleaning of toilet/shower, benches ect. Logging has started at the end of our road in early 2021 so during the week there are trucks but from Friday arvo to early hours of Monday it is quiet and peaceful. Usually on public holidays, long weekends and the Christmas period they close down. If you do book during a normal week - please just take it easy on the gravel road and expect trucks. Please do not book if you are not happy to travel on a gravel road. ***As of December 2024 the road is in great shape and can be accessed by all vehicle types. Trucks have stopped from 20th Dec 2024 to Jan 9th 2025 so it is very quiet on the road. Guest access You can park in the gated area in the quarters or just in the paddock entry way to the quarters - up to you. Other things to note A porta-cot would fit in the space next to the queen bed if you were traveling with an infant. Because logging has started at the end of the Pukeorapa road ~ please be careful on the drive in and out as some spots are quite narrow. In winter time when there has been lots of rain a 4WD vehicle is recommended but not 100% necessary. Please only book of you are okay driving 11km on a gravel road.
