Beautiful spacious cottage for families or friends

Bring the whole family, (including furry ones) to our "happy place" in the South Cotswolds. Make memories eating, drinking and laughing, round the kitchen table, or just relax by the fire in the snug with a book, whilst the kids curl up with blanket in the TV room. If the weather is good, have a bbq and and eat at the huge patio table. This unique home in the heart of historic Malmesbury is the perfect base, seconds to pubs, shops and the Abbey and a few minutes to excellent country walks. The space The Long Cottage is deceptively large - in fact it was originally 4 cottages, when it was built in the 1640's. There is plenty of space for everyone to have fun together, or to get some space for quiet chats and chilling. You enter straight from Malmesbury's historic High Street, into the large hallway / study. From there, there is level access to the the downstairs WC, the TV room with a huge sofa with just about room for everyone, then through the cosy snug , then into the huge light filled kitchen. We love cooking (Saul is a chef) so you will find everything you need and more, to create meals for family and friends during your stay. We love to host friends and family at the dining table, that extends out to seat 12 comfortably, if needed. From the kitchen you can go out to the garden, to the large patio table, where most meals are eaten when the weather allows. Summer afternoons are spent BBQing and the evening carries on under the festoon lights, or round the fire pit at the end of the garden, by the river. (bring your own bbq charcoal and logs for the fire pit) Upstairs there are 4 large bedrooms. The master bedroom is at the back of the house accessed by the "back stairs" and has an ensuite and large balcony over looking the garden - perfect for a quite morning coffee, away from it all. At the front of the house we have an ensuite bedroom accessed from the main stairs, with brass bed and walk in wet room. Two further bedrooms share the family bathroom. One room has a king sized bed with memory foam mattress and the other room can be made up in various ways - 2/3/4 singles or made up as a super king and two singles if required. The Long Cottage is our beautiful, stylish, cosy family home, full of everything you need for a memorable stay. We are located in the South Cotswolds, in the heart of the village, with great country walks on your doorstep, parking is a 5 min walk away and Bath, Bristol and the rest of the Cotswolds an easy drive away. Please note: we don't host parties, or stag/hen dos. We are in the heart of historic Malmesbury, so please be respectful of our neighbours too. Guest access We do not have parking at the house, as we are located on the Lower High Street. However parking outside to load and unload the car, is fine for up to 20 mins. There is free parking very close by on Parliament Row (5 mins walk - unlimited parking) St John St (2 mins walk - 23 hours parking) or on the upper High street (2 mins walk - 1 hour parking) We now have a key safe on the front of the house.
