Jasmina: Tuscan farmhouse near Cortona with pool

Welcome to Jasmina - our vacation rental, lovingly restored to retain its character but with a contemporary twist. Less than 15 minutes from Cortona, situated in the peaceful Tuscan countryside, the property adjoins our home, Villa Violina, a farmhouse of historic importance. In a fabulous location for easily exploring Tuscany and Umbria, Jasmina also offers guests the opportunity to rest and enjoy a peaceful holiday by the large saline swimming pool set amongst acres of landscaped gardens. The space Jasmina forms an adjoining but independent part of our historic farmhouse. The property is set in the Tuscan countryside in 13 acres of private grounds. The borders are fenced and the driveway gated. Jasmina is ideal for 2-4 people who wish to explore the regions of Tuscany and Umbria, whilst offering a beautiful 14m saline swimming pool and acres of landscaped gardens to relax in. Upstairs the property has a principal bedroom offering a queen size four-poster bed. Adjacent is a full bathroom with shower over bath, marble basins, toilet and bidet. The second bedroom is composed of twin beds which can be made up as a double, or two singles. There is an en-suite with large shower, basin and toilet. Both bedrooms have an air-conditioning unit (which is metered and charged separately) as well as fans. If used sensibly the air-con costs approx Euro 25-30 for the week when used in both bedrooms. Downstairs is comprised of a comfortable living room that includes two double sofas and teak side furniture. The room includes a flat screen tv and DVD player. The full kitchen includes dishwasher and washing machine and all that is required for exploring your Tuscan cooking skills, including a pasta maker ! For safety we have a smoke alarm and fire extinguisher. The boiler is external to the property. All the rooms feature original chestnut beams and terracotta flooring. The house was fully re-decorated in 2019. Outside there is a patio area in the garden with shade-sail. At the front of the property we have renovated a beautiful old "capanna". Here, guests can enjoy their meals, fire up the Weber BBQ or Ooni pizza oven, or simply enjoy a coffee, glass of wine or cocktail whilst relaxing on the rattan lounge furniture. Guest access Jasmina offers easy parking in the grounds behind secure electronic gates. Access to main arterial routes is easy from Podere Violina. Cortona is less than 15 minutes away, Lake Trasimeno 10 minutes, Montepulciano 20 minutes. Siena, Montalcino, Arezzo, Perugia, Assisi and Florence are all within easy distance for day trips. The house is also less than 5 minutes from Terontola, a local town providing access to supermarkets, bank, post-office, bakery, butcher and fruiteria. But perhaps most importantly Terontola is a railway hub from which you can travel to Arezzo, Florence, Orvieto, Perugia and the towns beyond should you wish to leave the car behind. Get the 7am train to Arezzo and change onto the Frecciarosso high-speed and you can be at Rome Termini by 9am. Other things to note Steven and Vicki hope to welcome you to Jasmina. We purchased Villa Violina in 2004 and it is now our home in Italy. We offer a beautiful property for our guests to relax in and enjoy your holiday. As Violina is our Italian home we are normally on-site and are happy to offer advice and assistance whilst at the same time respecting your privacy. We will help as much or as little as you need. We do make shared use of the pool and gardens but the main residence is not rented out. The property has a good internet connection with speeds ordinarily above 20 Mbps.
