This is a one of a kind log home located at the base of the Elkhorn Mtns. overlooking Baker valley, 10 miles West of Baker City. It is a large (5200 sf) home with 7 bedrooms, 4 baths and camp area, perfect for family reunions, workshops or retreats. For more details see: goodbearranch The space This home was built by my parents and log home craftsman Don Dickerson in 1979 out of large, hand hewn spruce logs. It has a rustic, elegant ambiance that is unique. We recently renovated the home adding top quality finish materials and modern amenities. The welcoming but elegant feel of the house is accentuated by hardwood floors, granite counter tops, oriental carpets, chrystel chandeliers, antique furniture, leather couches, original artwork and fine bedding. It has a gourmet kitchen (farm sink, professional, dual fuel range) capable of feeding a crowd. Two massive floor to ceiling stone fireplaces grace the main living areas, both upstairs and down. There are spectacular views out every window. It is located on 250 acres bordered by Wallowa Whitman National Forest. There is hiking, snowshoeing and wildlife right out the backdoor. You are within minutes of The Elkhorn Crest Trail and many Wilderness access options. Anthony Lakes Ski Resort is 45 minutes away. It is a 12 mile trip into Historic Baker City and 45 minutes to Sumpter. Behind the house there is a grassy, wooded area with a large fire pit, water access and picnic table. Make smores, tell stories or simply listen to the elk bugling across the meadow. The house has a large wrap around deck, including a furnished, covered sitting area.
