The large grass area is next to the gravel car park opposite Cormorant Grove. The tow path at the entrance to the marina follows the river southwards to Newport (about 30 minute walk) and its various shops and restaurants and northwards towards East Cowes and the Folly restaurant (about 20 minutes) which is on the River and has mooring facilities for yachtsmen. This is a good local child friendly pub. Excellent for cyclists and walkers alike. Local public transport is good and frequent including a water taxi from the harbour on request to Cowes, east and west. Buses leave from Mill Lane and offers links to most areas of the Island.
