Description
Dunkeld Cottage is a detached cottage within easy reach of the Lake District. Situated in a tranquil village location with lots of amazing attractions within a short drive, as well as some lovely walks from the door. Spacious and welcoming kitchen/breakfast room with full appliances. Large, cosy living/dining room, two double bedrooms (can be king/king or king/twin) and a bathroom with bath and shower over. Fully enclosed and private garden. Ideal for touring the Lake District and Pennines! The space Dunkeld Cottage is a chocolate box style cottage within easy reach of the Lake District and is nestled at the foot of the Pennines! The cottage features stunning beams and original period features, with everything thought of to make your stay a comfortable, relaxing one! The cottage dates back to 1820 and yet has been well maintained and looked after - with all the mod cons, including double glazed windows throughout and combi boiler for super toasty central heating! The kitchen/breakfast room is particularly lovely and has pretty views over the garden and is very spacious. All of the appliances you could need are here - including integral dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and of course a hob and double oven. There is a spacious and cosy lounge/dining room with beamed ceilings throughout, comfy sofas, large smart TV with numerous digital channels, super fast WiFi, and a desk with leaflets on the local area and further seating. On the first floor there are two double bedrooms, again, boasting glorious beams throughout and are very charming. The master bedroom features a kingsize bed. The second bedroom has twin beds which can also be pushed together to make a super cosy superking bed - please let us know your requirements. There is also a bathroom with a large and deep bath - ideal for a bubbly soaking after a long Lake District walk! The garden is fully enclosed and private and there is plenty of room for you to bring your bikes! Locally there is a lovely walk (approx 45 mins) to Long Marton with stunning views of the Pennines - ideal for a pub walk! We love the fact that Ullswater is around a 15 minute scenic drive from the cottage and it is our favourite day out - there's so much to do there from walking the Ullswater Way, taking a Steamer boat out or getting involved in water sports. The villages of Pooley Bridge, Patterdale and Glenridding all provide plenty of sustenance as well, after a long day's activity! Equally, the Pennines are the backdrop of the cottage, and if you want to head away from the crowds that can sometimes gather in the summer, then a delightful stroll around Pennine country may be just what you need! Another great day out is just a short hop to the village of Dufton where you can climb the famous High Cup Nick and also explore the many stunning walks from the village - and finish up in the pub afterwards! Likewise, Keswick is only a relatively short, scenic drive away - we highly recommend a boat trip, a hike up the famous Cat Bells, followed by a pub lunch or dinner in the fantastic town centre. There's so much to do - you'll need to keep coming back to do more! Guest access Full and uninterrupted access of the cottage. Other things to note Bedrooms have 1 kingsize bed in one room and in the other you can have 2 single beds or a superking (they are zip and link beds) Fireplace is ornamental only, please do not use. We have full central heating and the cottage is very toasty!
