Its architecture is more country than modernist, closer to the earth than the sky. The exterior volume is abstract and intriguing. Two volumes with irregular angles are anchored on retaining walls holding the sloping ground. The black pine walls contribute to the strangeness of this shape that cuts through the landscape without imposing itself on it. It is part of the place. Its internal organization extends this relationship to topography, like an interior landscape: hills, slate plateaus, black erratic blocks…. The interior spaces are divided into half-levels from the street access level. The reception floor extends to form one of the kitchen counters. Further on, wide steps introduce the living and dining areas, while offering themselves as informal seating benches, facing the landscape that opens up before you: the Charlevoix region, and the majestic Saint-Laurent.
