Located in a quiet, family-oriented neighbourhood, the property features a large, level backyard lined with mature trees. On sewer and city water. Inside, some of the original hardwood floors, interior doors, baseboards, and fixtures give it a rustic, heritage feel. Kitchen has a walk-out to deck with gazebo and an eat-in area with views of backyard and river. Fireplace nook and family room for relaxing after a busy day outdoors. BBQ, waterfront dock, fire pit and a variety of outdoor games (e.g., cornhole, croquet, bocce - all supplied) make for fun backyard hangouts. Canoe and kayaks available for use (at user’s own risk). Guest access Smart lock gains you entry to the home through the rear kitchen doors. It is only a few minutes walk to the shops, restaurants, art gallery of the quaint waterfront town of Washago. The nearby park (10-15 mins walk) has a sand beach where the clear water of Lake Couchiching is always warm in the summer. Many other attractions are within 10-20 min drive. Other things to note The single bedroom is an anteroom to the queen bedroom. You cannot get into the queen bedroom except through the single bedroom. There is a door at one end of the single bedroom that separates it from the queen bedroom and on the other end, a door to the hallway. Occasional trains pass through Washago during both day the night, and they sound the horn because of the crossing <0.5 km away. The horn is very loud. We suggest closing bedroom windows at night and bringing ear plugs in case the horn sounded at the crossing disrupts sleep. One white noise machine is provided but phone apps (e.g. 'White Noise') also work well. There is an antique claw foot bathtub and shower stall in the upstairs bathroom. However, the shower/tub in upstairs bathroom are both out of commission until further notice due to plumbing issues that will result in water damage. The main floor shower is to be used. Guests should be aware that the shower is slightly smaller than standard shower enclosures.
