The space Coyote Road Guest Suite is set amidst pines and juniper with views that stretch wide and long. It's quiet up here with the birds, the rabbits, chipmunks and squirrels and the sunsets are amazing. There are also elk ....and the occasional bear. Yet Taos and the Ski Valley are each only 20-25 minutes away. And, Arroyo Seco, a tiny hamlet of artists, with maybe the best ice cream in the world (Taos Cow), a few good restaurants, and some interesting shops, is just 2 miles down the mountain. You enter the suite from its private porch. In the summer, the flowers are blooming and we put out the hammock. There are chairs and a table for al fresco dining, cocktails, or scribbling. In the warmer months, the porch is the room you'll use most. In winter, the view, from porch and suite is, more often than not, a snowy, winter wonderland. From the end of Coyote Road (a short walk) you can see to the the Rio Grande Gorge, Georgia O'Keefe's Padernal, and beyond. The suite has a queen bed as well as a day bed and a table with 2 chairs where you can eat breakfast or serve yourself a take-away dinner or lunch from one of the restaurants in Arroyo Seco or Taos. There is a small fridge, a microwave. toaster oven, as well as plates, glasses and cutlery in the passageway to the bath. There is local tv as well as a collection of videos. The suite is self sufficient and private, tucked into the lower floor of our home. Guest access The suite is accessed from its private porch that looks out into the juniper and pine, and beyond, to the gorge. The downstairs is yours; the upstairs is ours. Other things to note WINTER If you come in winter, you will need a vehicle with 4 or all wheel drive and know how to drive in snowy and icy conditions. We recommend chains or snow tires as well. The Road Association will plow the road usually within 48 hours of the snow stopping if there is at least 6 inches of snow, so there IS the possibility of being snowed in for those 48+ hours. My son has more than once hoofed it to the Ski Valley Shuttle, 2 miles downhill so he could ski fresh powder. Take heed! For long-term rentals in the winter, if it snows more than 6 inches, the driveway will need to be plowed. That will be done when the road is plowed. Charge is $50 per plow.. We will charge you through Airbnb. CLEANING. With Long Term Rentals of a month or more, we clean every 2 weeks... There is a charge of $45 for each clean. Fresh linen and a clean suite, and no need to go to the laundromat
