Description
Welcome to our cottage on Dog Lake, a beautiful and serene lake noted for its fishing, paddling and wild life. Nestled between Toronto and Montreal, we are the perfect destination for those needing some quiet time while visiting the 1000 islands. Build a bonfire, go for a swim, explore your surroundings by canoe or on foot. There's lots to do. Or, do nothing at all. Enjoy a cup of coffee on the screened in porch while listening to loons watching hummingbirds and fireflies. And breathe! The space Guests most often comment on the peace and serenity that our property offers. The birdsong in the evenings and at sunrise is amazing. If you're lucky, in the dark you'll be treated to the dance of the fireflies! We have three cottages on our property, 100' apart with trees in-between. Each cottage has two bedrooms. One has a double bed, the other, two twins. The kitchen has all the equipment that you need to prepare a full meal. The bathroom has hot and cold running water, a shower and flush toilet. The water is from our well and is drinkable. We ask guests to bring their own sheets, pillow cases and beach towels. We supply duvets, pillows and bath towels. We have good Wi-Fi reception. Each cottage has it's own dock, firepit, 4 Adirondack chairs and comes with a canoe, paddles and life jackets. Each has a propane BBQ. The shoreline is natural, level, and a stone's throw from the cottage. While not ideal for swimming in front of the cottage, there is a gorgeous sandy beach 10 minutes by foot. There is a French press and drip coffee maker provided. Coffee, tea, sugar and creamer are complimentary as is toilet paper, shampoo, hand soap and dish soap. There is parking for one vehicle beside the cottage. Guest access Guests may enjoy exploring our 125 acres with fields, forests and ponds. There is a gorgeous sandy beach 10 minutes by foot.
