Description

This sun-filled second-floor apartment is 20 mins from everything. It is near the farmer's market, carousel museum and the Erie Canal eateries . This small, newly remodeled sunny apartment has a record player with lots of records to play. The cozy kitchen is easy to share a meal and makes cooking fun. The 2 bedroom layout is perfect for 1 to 3 people. A comfortable shower with a porcelain tub perfect for soaking makes the bathroom nicer than most. No public transportation close but Uber works! The space Welcome to our cozy, thoughtfully curated space perfect for 2–3 guests. Soak and relax in the vintage claw-foot tub or freshen up in the separate standing shower. The apartment features two bedrooms: one with a queen bed and privacy door, and another off the kitchen with a futon that converts to a full-size bed. Spin records from our vinyl collection, stream your favorites on the TV, or enjoy the free WiFi. The kitchen is fully equipped for home-cooked meals, featuring a gas stove, microwave, cast iron skillet, coffee maker, and a great selection of spices. Everything in the in the kitchen and the apartment is there for you to enjoy, Gather around the vintage wooden table for meals, morning coffee or to listen to a record or two. This space is one of our homes, and we’ve filled it with little touches to make your stay comfortable and memorable. Enjoy your stay! Guest access Everything in the apartment is there for you to use and enjoy. The apartment has its own separate entrance. The guest has access to all of the rooms in the apartment with complete privacy. The drive way has parking for 1 vehicle. If you will need additional off street parking let us know so arrangements can be made. After December 1st in North Tonawanda there is an overnight parking ban from 2am until 6am. This is to make it easier for the city plows to operate. Other things to note Thompson Street is just off Twin City Highway, which starts out in Buffalo as Colvin Blvd Rt-425. The apartment is just a few miles from Niagara Falls Blvd, Rt 62, which runs from the UB city campus to downtown Niagara Falls. The Blvd is a commercial strip with chain stores and restaurants, the Boulevard Mall& my personal favorite for mall shopping: The Niagara Falls Outlet Mall with Kate Spade & Cole Haan shops. Route 62 connects to the I-290 and from here you are about 20 minutes to a half hour away from most all of the areas attractions, like Niagara Falls and downtown Buffalo. For groceries, Market in the Square (535 Division St, North Tonawanda) is just around the corner and offers fresh produce, everyday essentials, and has a laundromat right next door. You’ll also find Tops Market and a variety of restaurants near Webster Street by the canal and Gateway Park. For a wider selection, Wegmans on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Amherst is a great option. The North Tonawanda Farmer’s Market is within walking distance, located at the corner of Payne and Robinson streets. It’s open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., offering local produce, eggs, meats, maple syrup, and delicious apple cider donuts—especially abundant in the warmer months, though vendors are there most of the year. If you want to dine out, in and very near NT, here are some suggestions in order of preference with dollar signs to indicate general expense level. (Even $$$ places have reasonably priced hamburgers and pizza that can make dining easier on tight budgets.) --Prescott's Provisions, 40 East Niagara St., Tonawanda, NY. $$$. Just across the NT bridge and canal, this spot looks out on the NT waterfront and has a gourmet-style evening menu and more basic lunch fare. I love it for the craft cocktails, charred avocado crab salad and fish and scallop dinner options. There's also pork, beef, chicken with an effort to source locally. --Dockside, 153 Sweeney St, North Tonawanda. $$ On the NT side of the waterfront, this is a casual and bustling eatery and bar right on the water. I like the fish tacos and Gouda tater tots. Great range of menu options from risotto to burgers and fish fry. --Remington Tavern, 184 Sweeney St., North Tonawanda. $$$. Just across the street from Dockside, the Remington patio also has water views. It specializes in oysters, seafood and Italian fare and also serves basic steak and fries and craft cocktails. --District 37 Kitchen & Taphouse, 110 Sweeney St, North Tonawanda, NY 14120 $$ District 37 Kitchen & Taphouse offers a unique and delightful culinary journey, where the comforting flavors of smoked meats, the rich, cheesy goodness of Detroit-style pizza, and the gourmet twists on classic burgers come together. The extensive beverage selection, including 37 craft beers, a curated bourbon list, and specialty cocktails, enhances the dining experience. The waterfront location with a patio overlooking the water adds a special touch, making it a year-around destination for food and drink enthusiasts. --Webster Street Bistro, 102 Webster St, North Tonawanda. $$$ This is a French-style restaurant with a Buffalo-Americana bent. Nice meals in the shade of the patio or inside. I am a fan of their risotto and fish! Some of their dishes have a touch of sweetness. This restaurant is on the old fashioned main thoroughfare of NT, which leads me to recommend another NT dining approach ... --Wandering Webster Street. There are lots of bars with patios serving chicken wings and hamburgers and tavern fare. If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to call or text us anytime. A day before your departure, we’ll send a wrap-up message with simple check-out instructions. Check-out is at 11:00 a.m. Please leave the apartment as you found it, and be sure to take out garbage and recycling to the appropriate bins. 😊
