The space The 2,000+ square feet space is very unique with lots of custom work and hardwood floors throughout. Giant windows, balconies and the rooftop give you an awesome view of the entire city. This house is like no other, and has a rich history. The first two floors were built 100+ years ago. And the third floor was added recently to take the house to the next level. Everything is all nice and new on the third floor. There are 11ft ceilings throughout most rooms. And exposed wood beams and comfy breakfast nook bay window. The original hardwood stairs to the second floor are a little steeper than normal, so you have to be careful. And there's an epic custom metal railing in the central stairway that connects everything together. History of the house: For decades the first floor was a candy store, and still has the 15 foot long bench radiator that was placed below the original giant plate glass windows. Overall, the rooms are much larger than a typical Philly rowhouse. There's a big exposed brick wall where you can see where they upgraded the house to gas lighting way back in the day. And you can see where many years later they installed electricity, and at some point coal heating, by the patched scars in the old growth antique heart pine wood floors. When the house was first built it only had a wood burning stove for heating and cooking. There's now heating by hot water radiators, as well as a modern HVAC system. The kitchen temporarily does not have a full sized gas oven. There is an electric countertop burner, toaster oven, microwave, electric kettle, rice cooker, and a full sized propane grill with a side burner a few feet away on the patio. There’s also a second smaller refrigerator on the third floor. All the appliances are brand new. There's also a large sliding glass door in the kitchen looking out onto a partially covered garden patio. Guest access There's wifi. And there's an iron/ironing board and closet space if needed.
