"A bright star among Airbnbs" & "one of our favorite Airbnbs of all time" is how guests have described this spacious apartment with private entrance. Our space is a good match for quiet guests, as Erika works from home (we live upstairs). We honor guests' privacy while creating a special stay for you. LGBTQI+friendly. Max. 2 adults. No pets. Infants welcome but the apartment is not babyproof. No cigarettes on the property, but smoking (legal) weed on the porch is fine. The space This fully equipped 1-bedroom apartment is spacious and sunny, with separate dining nook, and is the bottom half of a house built in 1875 that's been lovingly updated. Your door overlooks a rambling pollinators’ lawn filled with birds and flowers. In May-June 2026, we'll be preparing to build a new deck. Until mid-summer, your doorstep will lead to a sitting area at ground level. We provide a vehicle pass for ALL Maine state parks, which you can use at nearby beaches listed in this Airbnb's guide. (Acadia is not a state park,) The apartment is cooled and heated by a pair of silent heat pumps. We also provide 2 electric fans. When our raspberry patch is full of berries in the late summer, we welcome you to go pick some fresh fruit! The "TV" isn't connected to cable, but has Roku with Netflix, Prime, Hulu & HBO/Max. Please note that we try to use environmentally-friendly cleaning products, and we launder bedding and towels with scent-free detergent. Finally, we have a Progress Pride flag on the deck railing. If you're uncomfortable staying in a property celebrating/affirming queer pride, please choose a different Airbnb. Guest access The entire space is yours—including the washer/dryer (we provide detergent; there are wool balls in the dryer). However, we ask that you are the only people on the property. Please don't invite friends over—even outdoors. You might spot us outside in the yard. Your (private) door faces the garden and a shared parking space; our entrance is on the other side of the house. Other things to note Please don't make reservations on behalf of your family members: YOU must be the one staying here. To avoid disturbing neighbors, we ask guests to self-check-in before 9 p.m.
