The Getaway is close to public lake access for swimming and launching your boat or fish house. Many nearby attractions include Bemidji State Park, restaurants, and the Bemidji Town & Country Club. Ruttger's Birchmont Lodge offers fun pay-for-service access to an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, and gym equipment. This space is attached to a private shop that owners may access during your stay. - Basketball hoop - Campfire area available - The property has a tree fort; this is not part of the Airbnb experience during your stay for safety reasons. We will not be held accountable for the injuries of guests who do not heed this warning. - Several chickens are in a coop on the north side of the detached shop and garage (Shared Space). Please don't feel free to feed them vegetable scraps or grass, but we ask you not to enter their pen. Depending on the chicken's productivity, there may also be "farm-fresh" eggs in the refrigerator at the beginning of your stay. - While rare, we occasionally have animal "visitors" to the property. Please remember that you are in the Northwoods! Animals may include deer, raccoons, squirrels, bears, foxes, frogs, rabbits, mice, and birds. Guests will have access to the double, detached shop, and garage. With that said, property owners may periodically visit this space during a guest's stay to care for the chickens or quickly grab something we may need from the shop. The property shares a driveway with an adjacent home, which is where one of the property owners lives. Guests will be given space to enjoy their experience, but will be able to utilize property owner as a resource when needed. The location of this beautiful property is in one of the most desirable spots in Beltrami county. There are a variety of seasonal cabins and full-time family homes in the area. The main road leading to the property can get busy and does not have a shoulder. For this reason, we recommend being cautious when walking, skating, or biking on the road (wear helmets, appropriately bright and reflective clothing, etc.). There are walking and bike paths, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing trails located just down the road at Bemidji State Park. Public transportations options are limited in the Bemidji area. We suggest having your own form of transportation rather than relying on taxis or rideshare applications. With that said, there is a local taxi service and bus service as well as a limited number of Lyft drivers.
