Description
Enjoy your own personal park space with Current riverfront access. This cozy three bedroom, one bath cabin is uniquely situated on 3 acres within National Park land boundaries just outside one of Missouri's premiere trout parks. Montauk State Park is just minutes away. Even if you don't fish, you can take a float trip, swim in the clear cool waters of the Current river, relax by the riverside fire pit or just sit on the deck and take in the natural beauty of the Ozarks National Scenic Riverways. The space NOTICE: You may or may not know, but our cabin was lifted off of its foundation and floated down the yard during the devastating flood that occurred during the first weekend of November 2024. It has been a long road to recovery; we are actually still in the process of getting it ready to rent for this upcoming season. And yes! it will be ready! One major change that is very visible is, our cabin now sits on a foundation wall. If you will notice in the pictures (coming soon) there is now a set of stairs one must use to access the cabin. Other than that, and with the exception of a bathroom remodel, it is still the great cozy cabin it always has been. Finally, if you are a regular Air BnB guest, we understand and appreciate the importance of Super host status. We had established and maintained that status very early on when we began. Due to the "setback" we naturally lost that status. Rest assure, once we are back up and running, we will reestablish this status. Sincerely, Matt and Danielle We are very blessed to have this property. It -with very few others- literally sits within the boundaries of the Ozark Scenic Riverways National Park. When you think about it, it is the only river way designated as a National Park. We welcome all guests to spend some time in the heart of the Ozarks at the Blue Ribbon Trout Cabin. The cabin can accommodate up to four people. There is a master bedroom with a queen-size bed; two smaller bedrooms with one twin-bed in each room. -The only bathroom is located in the master bedroom- The cabin has a cozy living room/dining room and a full kitchen. There is a smart T.V. Not sure why anyone would want to watch tv, but the boss made me put it there! The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals: Fridge, stove, sink, coffeemaker, microwave, toaster, dishes and just about every utensil one needs to prepare and eat meals. There is a Weber charcoal grill located outside -no need to rush with gas- along with a table, chairs and additional deck chairs to enjoy your time outside. Down by the river (less than 100 yards) is a fire ring. You are more than welcome to build a fire and enjoy the tranquility of the river. All we ask is that you please buy/use local firewood and make every attempt to burn it. If there is deadfall -lying on the ground of the property- you are more than welcome to burn it. As mentioned at the beginning, this is a very special and unique property. You will be staying in National Park Property. Please treat it, as with all forest/park property with the utmost respect, and it will reward you forever! We look forward to hosting you! Matt Guest access The entire cabin is yours to enjoy. In addition, there's approximately 250 feet of riverfront property to roam around and play on. All we ask is please do not drive on the yard, especially past the cabin. Other things to note Having a dog ourselves, we understand and appreciate the importance of having them accompany us on vacation. However, we must limit your pet to a dog, 20 pounds or smaller and must be housebroke. We also ask that you please strive to limit your dog's bathroom space to the extreme corner of the property -between the shed and road- utilize the provided dooty bags (located on side of shed), to pick up after your pets and please dispose of the waste in the outside trash can. And please remember.... This is National Park land, and there are critters and creatures. Please keep your dog on a leash when outside, and especially do not leave them chained up outside. Due to its popularity, especially after Covid struck, the fishing access next to the property gets busy during the Summer months. It can get a little crowded and noisy during the day. Early mornings and evenings are great. The times from early to late Spring, and again from early to late Fall, are a lot more quiet. For the most part, the only other people down there are the fishermen who hike the river.
