Fern Tree Cottage's location is a winning one in the heart of Mapua village, within easy walking distance of the beach, wharf ,restaurants and all the amenities the village has to offer. Our 100+ year old cottage retains its original charm, with some updating to the kitchen and bathroom. It is cosy,comfortable and clean and very welcoming , with a slightly retro feel to it. The Great Taste Bike Trail runs right through Mapua making it an ideal spot for some rest and relaxation. It is only 15 minutes to either Motueka or Richmond and 25 minutes to Nelson by car. The Tasman region offers a wonderful array of wineries, restaurants, arts and crafts as well as the wonderful Abel Tasman where kayaking, tramping, swimming are all on offer.
