Old Mill Cottage offers a perfect setting for an upstate getaway for 2-4 people. Enjoy an evening in, watching the sunset over the Gunx from the back deck or walk over to the Gunk Haus for the "best burger in the Hudson Valley". The cottage is very private and although we live on the property and are around should guests need us, we rarely cross paths with them! Clintondale is a hamlet set in the middle of beautiful apple orchards. We are close to mountains, rivers and lakes and every season has something to offer. The spring is perfect for hiking, mountain climbing, cycling on the rail trail, antiquing (the closest antique store is Grandpa's vintage attic, just steps from the cottage) and driving around finding yard sales. In the summer we swim in lakes, rivers and pools and go to fairs. In the fall we go apple picking, hay riding, stuff ourselves with cider donuts from the farms, shop for fresh local produce at the open air markets and enjoy the spectacular colors of the leaves. In the winter we sled in the backyard or drive to mountains close by that offer skiing. New Paltz is less than 10 minutes away and has a lot of coffee shops, bars and restaurants, ranging from American to Thai to vegan. There is a wonderful selection of unique stores with local craftsmen. Destinations within half hour include Kingston, Rosendale, the Mohonk preserve, Lake Minnewaska, High Falls, Saugerties.
