Kismet Fire Island Beach House (2025 upgrades!)

60’s modern/retro, award-winning (design) house. 45 secs to beach. Spacious, clean, social- well suited for groups and families (up to 10 max please, 8 is ideal). We've been doing a lot of improvements this winter! Fabulous retro mid house, open-roofed porch. BBQ, Outdoor shower, Hardwood floors, lots of light. 3 minutes from the ferry/ restaurants, but on a quiet street. Appliances and mattresses regularly replaced. Professionally cleaned weekly The space The mid spaced outdoor porch is fantastic. (chairs, BBQ, table etc) Open to the stars and sun, but no neighbors can look in! I'm willing to make a deal last minute or off season! Please note: this is an older beach house that gets a lot of traffic during the season. If you are expecting the 4 Seasons, you will be disappointed! The vast majority of folks absolutely love the casual, no frills, vintage feel. There are some folks (luckily just a very few) who spend their time looking for faults. If this is how you roll, do us both a favor and check into a hotel! We try to use green products to minimize the impact on the environment. We all know they work with certain limitations. Porch boards rot during the season, screens rip. We do the best we can to keep it up during a heavy renting season, but unlike where most of us live normally, there are NO stores or Home Depot's just around the corner, so the level of response is sometimes slower than it would be back on the mainland. I invite people to go out and see the house (or the video) before booking because I take seriously the positive experience of my guests. But you also need to keep your expectations in check! Years and years of fantastic experiences from renters, from single folks to college friends to families with small kids to retirees. This house is really unique and folks from all over the world have stayed here. If your friends would characterize you as uptight and extremely particular (and unable to be cured by some serious relaxing beach time) please don't rent this house! If , however, you are cool and relaxed and realistic, please come and enjoy the hell out of a great house right near the beach. Out the front steps to the right (a 2 minute walk) is a private dock where you can catch a blood red sunset with cocktails before heading back to the house or restaurants for dinner. Guest access The beach 24/7! Bay 24/7 No beach fires allowed No cars allowed on fire island. You have to take the ferry. Other things to note Hi! So as you can imagine, we get lots of people looking to book their summer getaways early. We have a pretty strict no refund cancellation policy so we don't get left at the last minute with no renters but having turned away many folks. PLEASE make super sure you are in before you book! Please note: Fire island is an island . You can’t drive there. You must take the 15 min fire island ferry which has limited service off season. There is a ferry parking lot in Bay Shore and you take the ferry to Kismet. It is then a 3 min walk on flat paved street to the house which is located mid island.
