Take your kayak out on the water for a morning paddle, drive the surrounding country roads and take in the coastal scenery, and enjoy a day trip or two to Vashon Island (the Point Defiance Ferry is 14 miles east), Tacoma (16 miles southeast), Port Orchard (19 miles north), or Seattle (35 miles northeast).
