Private room with entire house to share. 3 blocks from Eastern Connecticut State University & 9 miles from the University of Connecticut. Within walking distance to outstanding restaurants, public transportation, a library, a post office, hospitals, and a great food co-op that is open to the public. The house has a calm, quiet, ambiance, in a nice neighborhood, and has new comfy beds. This house was built in 1865. The woman who owned it before I did took great care in its restoration. This listing is for a room with a full-sized bed. There are two other bedrooms for Airbnb travelers. The entire house is for your enjoyment. I have a front parlor, a dining room/sitting room, an eat-in kitchen, and a cozy library filled mostly with art books as I am an art teacher in a local middle school. There are two bathrooms, both having claw-foot tubs and one with a walk-in shower - all bathrooms are shared with other guests and host. The backyard is nice and private, fully fenced in with lots of trees. Guests are welcomed to use the main floor living areas and kitchen as their own as well as laundry facilities on the lower level. I have toiletries available as need be. During the weekdays, I work at a school in the area and have varying hours. I am available through text, phone, and/or email. I live and work in the nearby area and can assist with any situation in a short amount of time. The neighborhood is filled with beautiful Victorian homes. It is easy walking distance to Eastern, a variety of restaurants, pubs, and local shops. There is bus service to UCONN, Hartford, and Boston. We are in close access to a few rails-to-trails venues and the Willimantic River is close by for kayaking. Several area lakes are also nearby for swimming and kayaking/canoeing. The beaches of Rhode Island are just about an hour's ride. New York City is about a two and a half hour train ride from Hartford or New Haven. Boston is about an hour away by car. There is bus service to UCONN, Hartford, New York, and Boston. Train service out of Hartford and New Haven.
