Only one block away from Eagle River and Lake Superior! The space Enjoy soaking in the peaceful Keweenaw Peninsula during your stay at Cottage on Pine. Located just 30 miles northeast of Houghton/Hancock, and 20 miles southwest of Copper Harbor. Eagle River is an ideal copper country location from where you can begin your local adventures which can include biking, hiking, lighthouses, intriguing waterfalls, former copper mines and other sightseeing the Lake Superior shorelines. Guest access Freshwater Vacation Rentals will email your arrival/departure instructions with door/lock box code. You will let yourselves in and out. The house is yours during your stay to enjoy and relax. Other things to note Sleeps: 4 (+ 2 small children) Bedrooms: 2 Bathrooms: 1 *View: A sliver of Lake Superior can be viewed from home *Block and half from Lake Superior *Block from Eagle River *Kid-friendly community park nearby Frequently Asked Questions: Air Conditioning: No air conditioning in this home. However, there is a ceiling fan in kitchen and there are window/box fans available for guests to use. ATVs: Yes. Please do not drive on the grass. ATV trail access is a block away. A truck/trailer combo can be parked next to home. Animals: Variety of birds, deer, racoons, rabbits, squirrels. Bathroom: Full bathroom with toilet, sink, and standing shower with bars. No tub. Beach/Swimming: The closest public beach is a block and half away on Lake Superior, in Eagle River, includes access to the mouth of the Eagle River and has approximately 1,000 feet of shoreline. There are bathrooms, picnic tables, and trails. Bedroom Configuration: Bedroom #1: Queen Bed Bedroom #2: Full Bed plus a kid-sized bunk beds not suitable for adults. Kids under 12 most comfortable (2 twins) Bugs: Typical Michigan bugs. The flies can be intense in May and early June. Cell phone service: Good. A Verizon tower is nearby on county property near the park. Phone calls are no problem, streaming can be tricky at times. Coffee Maker: There is a drip coffee maker and a Keurig (some K-cups are provided) Drinking Water: It is city water. Drugs/Smoking/Fireworks: Freshwater does not permit illegal drugs of any kind on the property. Due to the location of the properties, smoking is strongly discouraged around the home and strictly prohibited in the home. Fireworks are prohibited at a Freshwater location for the safety of all persons in and around the property, even if it is legal in that city. Fireplace: Electric fireplace. Fire-pit: Solo portable fire pit avail May - October Fishing: Ice fishing for Perch or Blue Gills can be excellent. Please keep safety first, watch the locals on the ice, ask at the bait shops check the thickness of ice before you step out. The conditions can change quickly. Summer fishing can be plentiful with your boat. Enjoy Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Perch and Blue Gill, plus other pan fish. (Like ATV's there is a space for boat parking/trailer off the street) Grill: Propane Grill. Propane is provided. Grocery Store: Two miles is a Phoenix Store (local grocery mart) Handicap Friendly: Let us explain what we mean by handicap friendly…there is a zero-1 step entry into this home, and it is one level (a ranch-style home). The bathrooms are equipped with shower bars for safety and stability. The doorways and hallways are not up to official handicap standards and do not come equipped with special apparatus to help those in need. Internet: Yes! Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. If you are particular about the thread count of your sheets, just let me know, and we will make sure we leave a bed open for your sheets. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillow cases and bath towels. Park: Eagle River has a community park that is a short walk away, located behind the Eagle River Historical Museum. This park has “old school” playground equipment with slide, carousel and swings, an open field, and a covered gathering area with restrooms. Parking: 2 cars (between house and garage) or one truck/trailer combination Pets: No pets allowed at this property. Enjoy this pet-free environment. Privacy: You can see other cottages from home. Seniors: Come one, come all! This space is great for those over 60. Home is located on top of a hill, but it has a flat area to park, and is just a couple of steps to the front or side door. The bathroom is senior-friendly and has shower bars installed for safety and stability. This home gets the FVR approval for the young at heart! Septic System: Please only flush (septic friendly) toilet paper which is provided. Space: Ranch style home Televisions: 1 TV is available (no cable) - bring your streaming log in for the Roku Device Towels: Yes, we provide towels. It's always good to bring extra though. Washer and dryer: Yes! It is in the unfinished basement. Soap is provided. Wood: Wood is not provided however there is wood available for purchase in the area.
