New Spøttrup Farm is located on a hill, overlooking heath, tidal ponds, beach and the sea. New Spøttrup Farm is a protected stately heritage country house built in 1870 by Niels Breinholt, the owner of nearby medieval Spøttrup Castle, located by Limfjorden inlet in Jutland, one of the best sailing and oyster safari areas in Denmark. Living at New Spøttrup Farm is like stepping back to the 1800s, but with all the modern conveniences, and located near Legoland, Cold Hawaii & Thy National Park. The space New Spøttrup Farm's size gave rise to the term country estate or manor house. A cattle ranch where both the farmhouse and outbuildings are built exclusively in boulders is highly unusual, and the interior is largely unchanged since 1870. Therefore, the farm is heritage protected. The main building has 9 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and 14 other rooms, including 2 reception rooms, a great room with a grand piano, dining room, kitchen, 2 pantries, office, 3 hallways, 2 halls and a chapel. Niels Breinholt who built New Spøttrup Farm in 1870 is also unusual, because he was the owner of Spøttrup Castle for 20 years. After the Breinholt family followed three generations of the Kusk Mikkelsen family who lived and worked on the farm through changing times and have their own unique story, because they have been part of the agricultural development and the cultural history associated with the region. The history of the farm has been documented in the book: “New Spøttrup Farm - The story of a Danish West Jutland cattle ranch”.
