Description
Relax with family or friends at this peaceful cabin. This is a small rustic 2 bed 1 bath riverfront cabin with over a mile of frontage on the North Fork Holston River. Bring tubes, fishing poles, hiking boots, and marshmellows. This cabin is secluded and truly puts you in the heart of nature. Birds, fireflies, deer, turtles, otters and others with the sounds of the river right next to the cabin. This is an active cattlefarm. 45 minutes from Bristol Motor Speedway. No smoking or vaping indoors. The space Walk into an open dining room, kitchen, and living room with two bedrooms in the back of the cabin with a full bathroom in the middle. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and the 2nd bedroom has a bunkbed with a double on the bottom. The bathroom has a standup shower with removeable showerhead. The livingroom has a couch and one chair. Dining room has a table with 4 chairs. One gas fireplace and air conditioning unit in the livingroom and kitchen. Partially covered porch to sit and listen to the river. Firepit to the right of the porch. Please keep in mind this is a small older rustic cabin on a beautiful farm. We also have a larger remodeled 3/2 mobile home for rent on the property as well. Pets are allowed but only one small dog. Guest access The driveway is steep and will require 4 wheel drive after it snows. We make it in our Kia minivan but vehicles low to the ground are not going to make it. You can always ask me. You have access to the entire farm. There is a caretaker and a farmer that take care of the cattle and the farm but you probably will never see them. River access right next to the cabin or drive to the beach area on the far east side of the property. During spring and summer months the river banks may be grown up making it hard to see the access areas. We are part of an environmental program that limits mowing along the river bank but we are allowed to mow a path to the river access areas. However, rain can delay mowing. The river can be high and fast moving after heavy rains. There is 7000 ft of riverfront so there should be no problem finding places to fish! If you open a gate please close it behind you. There is a grill provided at the cabin and a small firepit. Enjoy! Other things to note The river is beautiful and we want our guests to enjoy it when able. Use caution when swimming and tubing. Swim at your own risk. We ask that you provide swim gear. Wear sandals or booties while walking in the river. There may be metal, glass, or other debris especially after heavy storms. The river can be high at times during perdiods of heavy rain. If you are coming soley to fish this river, heavy rains can affect your ability to do so. Heavy rains can also prevent our caretakers from mowing and grass can be high. The cattle are not pets. Enjoy them from a distance. If the cattle are at the main entrance, open the gate, drive through, and close the gate behind you. The cattle will move. Cell phone service is spotty. Verizon users have the best luck. I can be reached at iola farms FB or through airbnb messaging if you have issues. Internet is great but can be slow. Remember you're in the mountains. When you are here we encourage you to unplug and relax! Board games, dvds, and books provided for rainy days.
