This idyllic french village is surrounded by Sunflower fields & Vineyards. The nearby town of Matha is a 5 minute drive away & has all amenities including an EV charger. The Sandy beaches of Royan & the beautiful La Rochelle & Ile de Re are less than an hours drive away. Golf du Cognac is 20 minutes from the house. Ultra fast ‘Fibre’ WiFi connection The space You enter the property through gates into a gravel driveway & parking area with space for up to 4 vehicles. On the left is the barn & to the right is the main house. The house has been recently refurbished to a very high standard with many period features remaining. In front of the house is a lovely large terrace with BBQ, outdoor dining table & chairs and an outdoor Sofa, two Armchairs & a Coffee Table. Step down off the terrace onto the decked area with a beautiful heated swimming pool , Hammock on a stand, Deckchairs & Sun Loungers. The house is south facing & benefits from the sun all day long. From the terrace you enter straight into the spacious open plan Kitchen/Diner/Living area which has been tastefully fitted out with a beautiful handmade shaker style kitchen. There is a striking original Charentaise feature fireplace with a wood burning stove for cosy winter evenings. The house benefits from super fast ‘Fibre’ WiFi connection so is ideal for working from home. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large island unit & bar stools, range cooker, dishwasher, filter coffee machine & wine fridge for both red & white wines. There is an antique wooden extending farmhouse table & chairs that seat 6-10 people, a sofa & even a hanging chair creating a lovely sociable area for cooking, entertaining & hanging out together. Leading off from the kitchen is a cosy lounge with original wood floors. It has been decorated with a striking designer wallpaper & has a large comfy corner sofa, leather armchair & smart TV for relaxing family evenings. There is also a downstairs toilet. Upstairs there are 5 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms spread over two floors. The master bedroom on the first floor has a king size four poster bed, beautiful wallpaper & an en suite bathroom. There is a main house bathroom with a freestanding bath & large walk in shower on the first floor & a shower room with a double sink unit on the top floor. The smallest room on the top floor is currently used as a ‘kids den’ with a smart TV & double futon sofa bed. There is also a very useful laundry room on the first floor with a washing machine ( guests to bring there own pool/beach towels). The house is perfectly suited to a multi family gathering. Guest access Rental is for the entire house including use of the pool & outside area. There is a large parking area for up to 4 vehicles. Other things to note The pool can be heated out of season for an additional cost of €25 per day. Please be extra vigilant when small children are staying as there is direct access to the swimming pool from the terrace in front of the house. Turnaround day is Saturday so please book Saturday to Saturday in the peak summer holiday season. Pets - We are happy to accept one well behaved dog, extra pets considered on a case by case basis. Please discuss with the host. You must clean up after your dog & be respectful of the furniture. The house offers a Woodburner in the kitchen alongside electric radiators in the rest of the house & heated towel rails in the bathrooms.
