The space Blue Sky is a family-owned private residence with beautiful gardens, surrounded by trees and high fencing for enhanced privacy and security. The spaces to be enjoyed within this incredible property are spread across the three levels of the house: MAIN FLOOR: From the dramatic entry gate, enter to an open-plan kitchen with a breakfast bar and a dramatic dining area, all with spectacular views through floor-to-ceiling windows of the lake and three volcanoes. The master bedroom also has spectacular views and features a four-poster king size bed and a master bathroom with bathtub and shower. UPPER LEVEL: Living room and chillout area overlooks the main floor below and features a stone fireplace, large flat-screen TV, couches, love seat, balcony and even more spectacular views of the lake and volcanoes. LOWER LEVEL: Two bedrooms each with a queen size bed, with a full bathroom shared by the two bedrooms. OUTDOORS: A wood-fired traditional Mayan sauna big enough for 6 people, beautiful gardens and stonework, outdoor dining area, lower level hammock, and a stand alone laundry room with washer and dryer. Guest access San Marcos La Laguna is a small Mayan village along the shores of Lake Atitlan that enjoys a spring-like climate year-round. This very special village is also home to an eclectic foreign community and attracts spiritual tourists from all corners of the world. Our Blue Sky luxury home is just a 5 minute stroll to the village center and top restaurants, cafes, shops and yoga classes. Fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers are available every day just steps belowthe home. Walk down to the lake and the spectacularly tranquil Tzankujil Nature Reserve for a swim, a nature walk to ancient Mayan ceremonial sites, kayak rentals, or to plunge 30 feet into the lake from the famous jumping platform. Tzankujil is the owner's husband's favorite spot in the entire world! For travel to other villages along the lake, just hop on a public boat from the San Marcos dock . Private boat hire is also available should you wish to arrange a personal tour. San Marcos and Blue Sky are a 4 hour scenic drive from the Guatemala City airport (3.5 hours from Antigua). The best transport options are private taxis and shuttle buses. Other things to note SERVICES INCLUDED: Gardener - Our awesome gardener attends the beautiful gardens of the house generally Monday thru Friday from 8AM until 4PM. He's a great guy, has a key to the outside gate, and has no access to the inside of the house. In-stay cleaning (optional at no charge for longer stays - just let us know) - If you are staying with us for 3 or more days, at your option a member of our cleaning team will attend to the cleaning of the house for 2 hours every three days. Nightly security guard (optional at no charge - just let us know) - Our security guard (my younger brother Jacobo) has a private room with its own bathroom situated under the house with its own separate entrance. He does not have access to the interior of the house. Note that we have three outside security cameras monitoring the main entrance area, the back yard, and the ledge between the upper level and the house up the hill next door. EXTRA SERVICES: During your stay at Blue Sky, we can offer you the following services upon request (fees available upon request): Private chef- Local chefs available to buy and prepare your meals in-home; we can message you the menu and it is also in the kitchen. Sauna prep - We can fire up the traditional wood-fired Mayan sauna for you Transport - We can arrange transportation to/from airport, Antigua, Chichicastenango, and other popular spots. Cacao Tour - Visit the local Mayan women producing organic ceremonial cacao. Lake tours - Visit the several other beautiful and interesting towns around the lake with our good friend Santos (who is tri-lingual).
