Description

This romantic hideaway is in the oldest part of Penzance, offering easy access to shops, the vibrant harbour and the fabulous art deco lido. Part of an attractive townhouse, its light and airy interiors are complemented by a private courtyard garden. The space Granite steps lead down from one of the town’s most historic streets to the entrance of this high-end couple’s apartment; once inside, you’ll find a welcoming sitting room with Smart TV and comfortable seating, and a generously sized open-plan kitchen/dining room with modern cabinets, and a traditional dining table with space for four. Large French doors allow plenty of natural light into this lovely space where you can cook, eat and enjoy time together; a second Smart TV here means you’ll never need to miss your favourite movie moments. When bedtime comes, the double room here has dual aspect windows giving a view of the patio and glimpse of the bay; a pretty shower room provides the perfect morning wake-up. Step out from the kitchen/dining room and you can enjoy a breath of sea air from your own enclosed courtyard garden – with bistro-style furniture, it’s an idyllic spot for tea and toast or an evening tipple. Rich in history and home to an eclectic mix of buildings, Chapel Street is one of the town’s must-see locations; the Admiral Benbow pub features in the opening scene of Treasure Island and is full of nautical character. Further along, the Union Hotel is where the death of England’s greatest naval hero, Admiral Horatio Nelson, was announced; just across the road, is the extravagant Egyptian House, with its colourful lotus columns and stylised cornices. Stroll in the opposite direction from your front door and within 100 metres is the harbour – home to leisure yachts and the local fishing fleet – and the mainland terminal for passenger ferries to the Isles of Scilly. Close by, the famous Jubilee Pool is the UK’s largest art deco saltwater lido.
