Enjoy our newly-renovated, boho-style, four-season beach house “Dunestead.” Our charming family home is a restored Cape Cod-style home just 1 mile from the Indiana Dunes National National Park The house is a short walk (2.5 blocks) to the beach and hiking trails. The expansive 1-acre yard is landscaped with a large fire pit, swing for the kids, and an easy-access front circular driveway. The 3-bedroom size is perfect for a small family, a few couples, or a girlfriends beach weekend. The space This beautiful four-season home sits on a half acre of wooded land and combines the comfort of modern amenities mixed with the charm of original woodworking, mahogany doors, and hardwood floors. The home is a classic Cape Cod-style property built in 1928, and is now is completely renovated in an artistic boho-inspired style. Downstairs features a large living room with comfortable seating area for 6-8 people, a full-size dining room, and a fully-equipped modern kitchen. French doors lead to a delightful sunroom (can be used as a fourth bedroom). Upstairs is light and airy, with windows looking over the back hill, gardens, 18 oak trees, and visiting deer every day. There are 3 outdoor spaces - a classic front porch, a side porch off the dining room, and a small upper deck with chaise lounges. All areas are nice retreats for reading or special vacation conversations. Our "Dunestead" house is located in the Miller Beach community, known for its organic farmers market, thriving artisan community, and a welcoming summer family scene. The house is also conveniently located 1 mile from an entry point to the Indiana Dunes National Park. This is an ideal getaway for a family vacation, an artist residency, a retreat for a few couples, or a girlfriend beach getaway. The beachfront is just a short walk, bike ride, or two-minute car ride away. Local businesses include a few rivaling pizzerias, the historic Beach Cafe Restaurant, a local brewery, and a new coffee shop downtown. You can also take a quick drive to bordering villages for other quaint food options. Or honestly, we recommend you just stay on the property, grab yourself a beverage, cook with friends and family, build evening fire pits, and watch the deer stroll by you in the yard. In terms of technical conveniences, of course we have high-speed WiFi that allow you to connect to the modern world, a Roku TV equipped with most streaming apps, and a small work station. Although (nudge nudge) we highly encourage you unplug instead, perhaps build a puzzle or play a board game - all on site for you. To make things easy for your stay, we have on site: • beach towels and beach toys (summer) • oversize beach wagon for gear (summer) • firewood (all year / honor system cash box) • fireside blankets (fall) Summer visits will bring you breezes and sand, Fall stays are our favorite season for hiking expeditions, and Winter stays are warmed by an oversized fireplace in the living room and a snow-covered yard. Room 1 - The Garrison Suite The master bedroom features a King size bed and has its’ own door leading to the main bathroom. The Garrison faces the West side of the house, overlooking the dining deck and front yard, and sunset views through the trees. Sleeps 2 (or 3 if you add a child to the bed) Room 2 - The Reese Double This bedroom features two matching twin beds and faces the front and East side of the house, overlooking the side yard which is known as “deer highway.” It has a writing desk and a double closet. Sleeps 2 Room 3 - The Bernadette Suite This rear-facing room features a full -size bed, desk, and closet. This room also has a private deck with furniture overlooking the half acre of wooded backyard. Sleeps 3 Room 4 (optional) - Convertible Sunroom The floor one sunroom off the living room can also be used as an additional guest room. It has a couch that converts to a sleeper.
