The space The villa consists of two large bedrooms with an attached bathroom in each room, a large central living area, which includes the dining area, and relaxation area. The bedroom is furnished with a large and comfortable king-sized bed draped with a mosquito net. The balcony offers an ideal space to relax outside in our hammocks, to discover the small wonders of nature or relish the grounding atmosphere. Surrounded by the Ella rock, Kurullangala, Little Adams Peak and Ravana waterfalls, the center offers a panoramic and exceptional view of the lush greenery of the highlands of Sri Lanka. Should you wish to get even closer to nature, you can explore the lush garden with numerous banana trees and observe the small monkeys going about their daily activities. The service: Breakfast is included in the price and prepared by our in-house chef. You can look forward to an authentic Sri Lankan cuisine that is sure to tantalize your taste buds and promise a culinary experience. Breakfast can be tailored to your preferences upon request. Additionally, as a local host, I am available at any time for questions and am happy to share tips and insider information about the most beautiful places in the area. Organizing TukTuks, Scooter or rental cars is also a breeze, ensuring you can explore the highlands safely and effortlessly. Guest access You will be able to access the the lounge and garden. Other things to note The journey to Shambala Retreat can be perfectly combined with the adventurous and beautiful train ride from Colombo to Ella. Although this may take some time, you will not regret it, as you will be rewarded with stunning nature and a journey through Sri Lanka's tea plantations, numerous small villages and a view of idyllic waterfalls. Once here, a variety of attractions await you, such as: the Nine Arch Bridge, Little Adams Peak, Ravana Waterfall, tea factories/plantations, Ella Rock, Ravanna Cave and Temple and much more. But beware, you might fall in love with the pearl of the Indian Ocean and never want to leave ;) Shambala Retreat is located off Passara Road in Kandekumbura Village, 30 minutes outside Ella. Mother Nature, with her glorious mountain views and subtle healing energy is our neighborhood. Please note that cars cannot come all the way down to Shambala Retreat's door as the mountain road is only suitable for tuk-tuks, 4x4 vehicles and scooters/ motorbikes. If you have a personal driver, he can drop you off at our junction and we will arrange for our village tuk-tuk driver to bring you the rest of the way down.
