Other things to note The journey to Shambala Retreat can be perfectly combined with the adventurous and beautiful train ride from Colombo to Ella. Although this may take some time, you will not regret it, as you will be rewarded with stunning nature and a journey through Sri Lanka's tea plantations, numerous small villages and a view of idyllic waterfalls. Once here, a variety of attractions await you, such as: the Nine Arch Bridge, Little Adams Peak, Ravana Waterfall, tea factories/plantations, Ella Rock, Ravanna Cave and Temple and much more. Shambala Retreat is located off Ella-Passara Road in Kandekumbura Village, 40 minutes outside Ella. Mother Nature, with her glorious mountain views and subtle healing energy, is our neighborhood. Please note that cars cannot come all the way down to Shambala Retreat's door as the mountain road is only suitable for tuk-tuks, 4x4 vehicles, and scooters/ motorbikes. If you have a personal driver, he can drop you off at our junction, and we will arrange for our village tuk-tuk driver to bring you the rest of the way down.
