The street outside the main building is very active, yet the accommodation at the rear of the property hears it not! If you like quirky and quaint mixed with busy street life then this is for you. It's a great space for people from all backgrounds, couples, and solo adventurers. Regret no pets. The space This 1 double bedroom cottage is bijou, cosy, sweet and quirky. Set over two floors (lounge and kitchen on ground floor, bedroom and bathroom on first floor) it is accessed via the main property using a shared front door and hallway leading to a courtyard. The cottage entrance brings you straight into the lounge which has a leaf drop table, sofa , coffee table, TV with storage under. Off the lounge is the kitchen with electric hob, dual microwave/oven, toaster, kettle, fridge, washer/dryer. There is an understair cupboard with iron, ironing board, vacuum cleaner, some storage space and hooks for coats etc. Picnic Cooler Box, cutlery, crockery, pots & pans, washing up liquid, tea towels, cloths are all in situ. SPIRAL STYLE STAIRCASE The only way up to the bedroom and bathroom is via the spiral staircase Its not a fancy one, its an original little wooden one in the corner of the kitchen. Nothing grand! It’s steps are enclosed leading from the kitchen to the upstairs landing. It is original and quirky but has a wider tread on the outside and narrowing to a point where it meets it's inner pole. It is flanked by two walls and the understair cupboard. However It may be a challenge for some people, elderly or very young or if you are expecting. Small suitcases can be transported upstairs but larger ones are a challenge. Once upstairs the landing leads off to one double bedroom with wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table, which can instead be used as a desk, and 2 storage boxes with towels and linen inside. A hairdryer, and hot water bottle will be in the chest of drawers. The landing also leads to the bathroom which houses the hot water boiler, airing cupboard wash basin, WC, and shower and towel rail. The water boiler is preset to heat up from 5-7am, 12-1pm and 5-7pm. This has suited every visitor whether working or holidaying, short or longstay. AND FINALLY Once here, you will relax and enjoy this little haven in a busy area of St Helier. Guest access There is shared access through the main hallway from the street, so please be considerate when coming in or using the courtyard at night. Guests will enjoy mainly private use of the courtyard however I do need to access the bins, water & weed the plants weekly and sometimes have a short break out there with a cuppa and a sandwich. Other things to note SPIRAL STAIRCASE - Please see previous notes in description. SMOKING Is not permitted in the studio cottage, however we have no objection if you want to smoke in the courtyard. Please use the ashtray box provided which us mounted in the cottage end of the shed. COURTYARD DINING Dine, wine or enjoy a cold beer in the courtyard, but please ensure all food/debris/rubbish is properly disposed of in the bins provided to avoid intrusion by seagulls. If bringing the blue table into the courtyard then please ensure that the 3 chairs (tucked inside the table) and the table and any cushions and blankets are taken back in before going out or retiring for the night. Please do remember to lock the cottage when going out and to pull the main front door securely shut. You will be held responsible for the cost of replacing any lost keys or locks, or any damage to locks, so please first make sure you contact your host straight away if you can't find your keys, at least we can then get you back in! ELECTRIC The Studio cottage is independently supplied and therefore metered separately. The host will provide £10 worth of electric on two x £5 card tokens, on every booking throughout the year. Should this not be sufficient during your stay you will need to purchase further cards from the Host. £10 usually lasts at least 5 days in the summer but the host has no control over the use of heating equipment during the cooler months so the user will need to PAYG once the first £10 has been used up. ACCEPTANCE By booking my cottage you agree to accept and adhere to the notices above along with any other rules and regulations that appear on my AirBnB profile.
