Cozy and spacious area (large enough for 4) with lots of art and book stimulation in a Pre-War built building in the very diverse neighborhood of Crown Heights. The space This private bedroom listing includes your own living room space. This private bedroom and living room space is located within a roomy 2 bedroom, railroad style apartment, guest area is large enough to accommodate up to 4, but works best and comfortably accommodates a single person or a couple. What makes this space unique from other "private bedroom" listings is how much space which is included: 1) your own bedroom with a queen size bed (with a comfortable memory foam mattress) 2) your own living room with a futon sofa (comfortable memory foam topper) + a fold out twin bed hidden in the large ottoman. I also provide an air mattress with an electric pump in case you need. 3) direct access to the kitchen, dining/workspace area Your space totals close to 450-500 square feet with 9-foot ceilings. There’s natural light from the windows, but it’s also positioned in such a way that there’s no direct harsh hot sunlight (very beneficial in summers). This is a second level walk up (stairs, no elevator). The rooms are fully furnished; bedroom has shelving, closet space, living room has plenty of sitting space. There’s no laundry on site, but the laundromat is super close - 2 short blocks away on Nostrand Ave. Space can accommodate comfortably up to 3 people (but possibly 4 with a couple in the bedroom on the queen bed, a single (or couple) on the full size futon couch, a single person on the twin size pullout bed + there is a twin airbed for one person). The kitchen & bathroom are shared, but you have direct access to both & when you are settled into this space, you will find it feels as if you have rented an entire apartment to yourself. This is why my listing is unique. Early check in & late check out options are available, if you require early check in or late check out (could entail a fee) I would need to know as soon as possible, when making your reservation. I do my best to accommodate. Please note: the cleaning service is always scheduled to come into the space immediately after the checkout hour. The flat is located near the 2/3/4/5 & A/C trains. 35-40 min by train to Manhattan. 10min by train to the Brooklyn Museum, Botanical Gardens, Brooklyn Public Library, and Prospect Park. Very conveniently located nearby major train and bus lines. Guest access Wifi access throughout the home, TV + fire stick in living room, direct access to the kitchen to cook meals During your stay I live on the premises - in my own living space - separate from this space so I am always available via phone, text or email. I have a separate entrance to the apartment. We share the kitchen and bathroom, but I am a private (yet sociable) person. Guests rarely see me (check my guest reviews which attest to this). I respect boundary and stay to myself - unless we click & by default enjoy interacting, but expect minimal interaction. I am often out of the home traveling but I am always immediately available via phone/text/email. If you need a host to have constant face-to-face interaction, I wouldn't recommend my place...However - if you like quiet, privacy and a place that feels like it is all your own - I AM YOUR HOST! This is like a railroad style apartment (which run front to back). The living spaces are on opposite separate ends of the flat, so there is natural privacy via distance. Other things to note This is my home and shared with me. To protect my own safety and the security of my home, no visitors or overnight guests allowed that are not listed on the reservation. All guests are expected to be clean and tidy, this rule especially applies to Long Term guests. The cleaning fee charged with your reservation is to thoroughly clean and sanitize the space upon your exit. I cannot accept any Long Term Guest that can not agree to keep the space (especially common areas) clean and tidy, unless you agree to hire the cleaning service for yourself (cleaning professional fee will depend on the frequency scheduled). I absolutely welcome guests that have a high personal priority for keeping their spaces tidy. Cleaning products are available for your convenience. For winter guests, please note (since this is a Pre-War building) it has steam heat (most NYC apartments have steam heat). Keeps the home super warm, but it also can be a little noisy. Summer guests please note that pre-war buildings do not contain central air (most NYC apartment buildings you will find, do not). The A/C units are window units. I provide 2 for your space: a large unit located in the living area - on hot days this unit remains at 21-23 C in eco mode to keep the space cool. There is an additional unit located in the bedroom. As an ecological and environmental responsibility - please do not leave the AC units running (especially on high and extra cold) when you are not home. Additionally, I ask that you do not irresponsibly tamper with the temperature controls for the large living room unit. If you are a guest that likes to set the A/C on the highest mode while dropping the temperature well below 20C/70F (extra cold) and leave it running when you're not even home - this apartment is probably not a good fit for you. I view this as ecologically/environmentally irresponsible and inconsiderate. For those interested in the natural light, please note the space is situated on the Northern end of the building with most the windows facing the North. The space receives the early morning (in winter) to noon light.
