Please note that in Spring/Summer there are thousands of Bogong Moths. They migrate from southern Queensland to arrive in the alpine region in Spring. Unfortunately the Bogong moth has just been declared an endangered species, they are super important for the ecology of all the high plains. They fatten all the marsupials and birds up after winter. Including the beautiful alpine Pygmy possum which is Australia’s only hibernating marsupial that is also dropping in numbers.. 😥 Bogong moths are at the start of the food chain and a lack of moths = a poor ecology. Please be aware there will be moths in Spring early summer and this is normal and important for the alpine region. Also, realise this is a National Park so you are going to come across wildlife and moths are essential for the whole ecosystem! This studio is right on top of the mountain and so close to the Mt Hotham village.. it’s a top spot for bush walks in the summer, snow skiing + boarding in the winter with spectacular views ALL YEAR ROUND 🌅🌸 Time for a relaxing getaway I’d say!
