Sandon Ridge Studio

A little piece of history, set on 4 acre surrounded by Green Gully creek & tucked under the Sandon ridge. The original stone dwelling (circa 1853) was running as the Sandon Tavern until around 1910, the second dwelling (Studio) built approximately 20 years ago has a beautiful large living room with fire place, entertaining courtyard with pizza oven & two beautiful bedrooms. It is the perfect weekend get-away to relax & explore the local surrounds of Castlemaine, Daylesford & Maldon. The space Ross and I live on the property in the (main cottage). If we are home, feel free to knock on the door to say hello or wave as we wander by. In the guest house we have two queen size beds with bedding & towels provided. We have a lovely outdoor court yard for you to enjoy. The space does not have a full kitchen, however we have a kitchenette with microwave, toaster, kettle, electric stove, fridge and in the courtyard we also have a dishwasher, full oven, and a Pizza oven. We've tried to make it as user friendly as possible. The house has a large fire place and a split system for both heating and cooling needs. Lastly there is limited phone reception, generally we can get enough to make a call or send a text when we are in the paddock however we can not guarantee this as it's always changing. We have WiFi set up for you to be able to use while you are here, so you can still communicate with the wider world over internet based apps or wifi calling if your phone allows. We also have a TV with chrome cast so you can stream your shows. If you have children please let us know if you require a port-a-cot or children's mattress - we are happy for children to stay however we have not child proofed the house and you need to be aware of the creek that runs our boundary. Unfortunately our facilities do not currently accommodate wheel chair access. If you have any special requirements/ requests please get in touch with us directly to discuss. Guest access The Studio is on a 5 acre farm. The studio is a private space which has it's own fully enclosed courtyard. It also has access to an outdoor section overlooking the creek and garden. You can also visit the chickens and help yourself to their fresh egga. Additionally we have a small pottery studio which we are happy for guests to use/learn how to use the pottery wheel for a small cost. If you are interested in this please message us prior to discuss details as it is only available if booked in advanced. Other things to note We have two friendly but excitable Brittany Spaniel dogs. They may bark at you when you arrive but they are very friendly and will likely come up to you to say hello. They are 6 month and 1 year, we are working very hard to train them not to jump but when they're excited they can jump up from time to time.
