Open space sunny cape with hot tub at E&H College
There's plenty of room inside and out on this five-acre lot, with open fields and beautiful sunrises. This house overlooks the Emory & Henry College campus, a short walk away. A herd of white tailed deer can be seen many mornings grazing outside. Abingdon, just a 15-minute drive, is home to great restaurants, the nationally-recognized Barter Theatre, and the trailhead for the gentle biking and walking 35-mile Virginia Creeper Trail, constructed through the mountains on an old rail bed. There are two living room areas inside, a well-equipped and stocked kitchen, and three bedrooms with queen beds (one downstairs, two upstairs). Two full bathrooms with tubs/showers upstairs and a half-bath downstairs. Large, walk in closets in two upstairs bedrooms, and an adjustable height standing desk if you need to get some computer work done. Television with Roku for streaming and fast wifi. A screened-in porch with an outdoor couch, rocking chairs. A hot tub catches great end-of-day sun. There is a two-car garage. Lots of yard space for games (croquet set included). Ample parking and walking opportunities. My parents do live next door and can help if needed. I'm also very accessible by phone. The Appalachian Trail can be accessed by a 30-minute drive south to Damascus. Thirty minutes to the west is Bristol, home of the annual Rhythm & Roots festival and the Birthplace of Country Music Museum. If you're looking to relocate to the area, this is a great homebase. Our next-door neighbor is a great realtor. We live in this home part time and our preference is long-term guests. We welcome short-term guests, but we don't set the space up with short-term needs like coffee, snacks, and toiletries. We do have all the sheets and towels needed and condiments and basic cooking staples you're welcome to use.
