Welcome to The Roost! Make this bright + cheerful bungalow your home base for exploring the beautiful Crowsnest Pass — a gem in the Rockies. This family-friendly home is walking distance to main street and hiking/biking trails, has large windows with mountain views, plus a spacious living room, fully equipped kitchen, modern bathroom, comfy beds and fenced yard. The perfect place to relax after exploring the outdoors or visiting shops and historic sites. Max occupancy: 6 BL# 1821 DP #2022-ST001 The space The house is south-facing with a private, fully fenced yard that offers plenty of sunshine and great views. There is a front porch where you can enjoy your morning coffee, and a bbq, outdoor seating and propane fire bowl for the backyard.. The house itself will accommodate maximum 6 people and 2 vehicles with designated onsite parking (no street parking allowed under bylaw). Enjoy a large comfy living area, a kitchen with a small eating area, plus a four-piece bathroom and three bedrooms (1 queen, 1 double, and 1 single-over-double bunk bed). The unfinished basement has a full-size ping pong table, foosball table, washer/dryer and second bathroom (upgrades in progress). Guest access We offer self check-in and the entire house and yard is yours to enjoy. Please note: Municipal bylaws limit us to maximum 2 vehicles and rental guests MUST park in the designated space behind the house (access from alley) and not in the street — sorry for any inconvenience. You can park on the front or side street to unload bags and passengers before parking in back. We cannot accommodate ATV or recreational trailers. There are a few steps up to the front door. Other things to note The house is within walking distance of hiking, biking and ski trails. This is bear country, so please be safe and help protect our wildlife. The bbq grill should be cleaned after each use, no food can be left outside, and garbage must be put in a black bag and placed inside the bear-proof bin in the alley by the garage. If you're hiking and biking, it is recommended to go with others (not alone) and carry bear spray. If you want more information on bear safety we are happy to send you some. Also, please read the manual in the binder before using the propane fire bowl. It can be placed on the gravel in the metal fire ring on the grass. Please keep the flame low and don’t leave it unattended — dry and windy conditions are dangerous. Make sure the fire pit, bbq and propane tanks are turned off after use. The train runs through Blairmore, so you will enjoy the romantic sound of the occasional train, which will remind you of the town's rich history. We don’t have air conditioning. Thankfully, in the mountains it usually cools down at night, so you can open the windows and let the fresh air take the edge off the heat.
