It is located about 1.2 miles from the historic village of Corfe Castle, with its castle ruins and old houses and pubs. It is possible to walk from the cottage to the village over the fields, or down the single track lane, to the Purbeck Steam Railway station and village shop. It is possible to travel to Swanage and local stations on the steam train. A car is recommended for seeing further a field in the Isle of Purbeck and for the wider Dorset sites and historical attractions at Lulworth Castle, Kingston Lacey (NT). Wareham Network Rail station with direct trains to Waterloo & Southampton.
