Luxury hilltop villa with countryside views, located between Florence & Rome (1 ½ hours drive & accessible by train). Ideal for exploring the hilltop towns of Umbria & Tuscany. Orvieto is 20 minutes away & towns like Siena, Perugia, Cortona are all within easy driving distance. Main bathroom has a Jacuzzi bath. The space The villa is a part of a development designed to replicate a typical medieval village, or borgo, and is centred around an 11th century Templar fortress. Externally, it is constructed of solid stone and brick with terra cotta roof tiles. Internally there are terra cotta floor tiles throughout with a granite staircase with a wrought-iron balustrade. The property is on the right hand side as you drive into the development, about half-way along the road. The villa is accessed via a wrought-iron gate and benefits from a paved front garden from where you can sit and relax. The property is on 2 levels – the ground floor comprises the living area, kitchen and shower room with WC whilst the first floor has a main bedroom with a seating area, the main bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and a single bedroom. The main living area has 2 sofas, one of which is a double sofa-bed, a coffee table, the open fireplace and an Internet TV. The kitchen area has a fridge freezer, an oven with gas hob, a dishwasher and a washing machine. The main bedroom comprises a queen size bed, a beautiful wooden wardrobe and 2 bedside units with lamps; it is air-conditioned. It has a seating area adjacent, from where you can sit and look out over the hills and see Orvieto and its duomo in the distance. The smaller bedroom has a single bed, side table, lamp and another quality wooden wardrobe. The main bathroom has a WC, bidet, sink and Jacuzzi bath. On the other side of the villa is the swimming pool which is accessible through the rear doors and the side staircase. The pool is privately owned but you have access included in the rental. Guest access A car is essential. Strada Conventaccio is accessed off SS71 about 2-3 miles outside the town of Ficulle (Orvieto side). Access to the SS71 off the main A1 can be from either Fabro or Orvieto. As you proceed all the way down Strada Conventaccio you will enter the development itself (known as Torre de Monaldeschi).
