Crumbleclive Cabin

NOW REOPENED - SEPTEMBER 2026 Crumbleclive is a beautifully restored 100 year old cabin set within the dramatic backdrop of Crunkly Ghyll. The Cabin has a balcony overlooking the gorge with the River Esk rapids visible at the bottom. Surrounded by Oak trees you will feel amongst the treetops as birds gather on the branches around you and fly through the gorge below. It is perfect for couples wanting a romantic getaway to recharge the batteries! The space Crumbleclive is a hundred year old former Gun Room for the local estate and unsurprisingly has bags of character. The cabin is small but has a double bed, a butchers block, fast WiFi, a wood burning stove and also a projector with Netflix, YouTube etc, which plays out on a 70” screen in front of the bed. Outside the sliding doors is a balcony overlooking the ravine and this is joined onto another decked outdoor area with a well equipped outdoor kitchen with a Ninja Grill and Airfryer, fridge, and sink with hot and cold water. Also outside is a huge two person sunken bathtub perfect for sitting in and listening to the river down below. We have also added a 100” projector screen which means when it gets dark, you can turn outside into your own private outdoor cinema where you can curl up under the heater and watch your favourite Netflix series! Guest access Crumbleclive is based at Wild Slack Farm, a traditional moorland farm. Parking is on the adjoining caravan site but if it’s wet then it will be up at the farm. Other things to note Although the cabin is situated on its own in the ravine and is completely private, there is a small but busy in summer caravan site in the neighbouring field which is where the entrance is. There is a farm shop vending machine on site where we sell our own meat born and raised on the farm. This includes rare breed pork, shorthorn beef and heather fed lamb.
