Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Carrickfinn peninsula, and golden sandy beaches minutes away, our spacious cottage is perfect for a couple's or a family holiday. The cottage is tastefully decorated and furnished and has everything you need for a great time in a scenic tranquil location. After an event filled day in the locality where you can enjoy water sports, golf, fishing, walking, boat trips, you will return to a lovely home with turf fire that has the added attraction of a sauna . The space Carrickfinn Holiday Cottage has been accommodating guests from far and near since first opening in 1997. The cottage is decorated, fitted and furnished to the highest standards and provides quality self catering accommodation. We have recently been awarded a "Quality Assurance Certificate" from the Irish Self Catering Federation. The open plan living area has an open fireplace, television, dvd and radio. Free WiFi is available throughout the cottage. The fully fitted kitchen is complete with all modern appliances. The bright dining area overlooks the garden and sheltered deck . Our cosy modern cottage sleeps 6. The house has 3 large en-suite bedrooms, one is on the ground floor. There is a cot, travel cot, high chair and stair gate available Visitors can enjoy a view of Errigal from an upstairs bedroom. Bathroom and adjoining sauna are on the ground floor. The utility room has a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board. The sheltered deck with garden furniture is perfect for a morning coffee, an evening bbq, and a great place to top up your tan when the sun shines. All bedlinen, towels and turf (for evening fires) are provided. Oil central heating is extra and charged as per usage. The cottage is located in a very quiet and peaceful area. It is just minutes to a choice of golden sandy beaches. No pets are allowed in the cottage. Guest access Your own transport is a necessity. Ample parking at cottage. Information on the local area, places to visit, places to eat etc. is available in the cottage. We live nearby and available should visitors needs our help or advice. Other things to note Carrickfinn Holiday Cottage is located in the heart of the Carrickfinn Peninsula in West Donegal. Where land meets sea on the Wild Atlantic Way, it is an area of spectacular coastal scenery. Mt.Errigal is visible standing guard over Irelands largest Gaeltacht. Part of the Carrickfinn peninsula has been designated a Special Area of Conservation and also a Natural Heritage area. The array of wildflowers makes it an artist's and photographer's paradise. West Donegal is home to many world famous musicians, Mairead Mooney of Altan, Maire Brennan & Clannad, Enya and Daniel O Donnell. Nearby attractions include Glenveagh Castle and National Park, Mt. Errigal and the Poisoned Glen, with daily boat trips to Aranmore, Gola & Tory Island. 5Km to village Annagry village with 2 hotels, supermarket, pubs, pharmacy, church, post office, coffee and gift shop etc. It is 8 Km to the nearest town Dungloe with 4 supermarkets. Twice daily flights are operated all year around from Donegal Regional Airport Carrickfinn to Dublin Airport. Donegal Airport has been voted first in the World's Most Scenic Landings. Car hire is available at the airport.
