A beautiful 2 bedroom apartment for up to 4 persons, encompassed by the nature of Barra Da Lagoa with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, plants & ocean beyond. This apartment features a new modern kitchen, two beautiful bedrooms with superb views from all areas of the apartment and an open balcony to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine at your comfort. Accessible only by foot, located 10 minutes walk from the town centre, Barra da Lagoa Beach, public transport, shops and restaurants. The space Nestled amongst a diversity of native flora and fauna and natural stone pathways that surround our property, our apartment offers comfort in a peaceful atmosphere. You will wake to sound of the birds singing whilst the sun rises over the mountains edge just a step outside your room. A water canal divides us from the commercial centre of downtown, Barra Da Lagoa . With no roads on the mountain side, you can only access our apartment by walking 10 minutes from centre town. The walk is on a public footpath throughout the mountain community, enriched by nature, a friendly local neighbourhood and colourful Azorean houses which define this charismatic fishing village. The gorgeous views from the apartment are destined to keep you entertained all day, the ocean, mountains, water canal, fishing boats, paddle boarders, jet skies, surfers, native fauna are some of the features of this unique place. This apartment features a modern large kitchen equipped with all the essentials: fridge, marble bench top, stove, toaster, kettle, microwave, dining table for four people, television with Netflix and YouTube, central air conditioning and additional fan in each room, a clean modern bathroom, large queen bed and double bed, sofa and an external balcony for smokers. We have 4 rental properties in our business but this apartment is private all to yourself. This apartment also has access to a rooftop open terrace with a communal kitchen used by our permanent guests. The terrace provides a large space to interact with other people if you wish to enjoy the sunset/sunrise with a drink, practice yoga, sun bath or just enjoy the incredible views this terrace features. Being mindful this terrace is the kitchen for our full time guests so please respect the area. HIKING TRAILS NEARBY The famous 'Trilha Boa Vista' (Good View Trail) is just a 5-minute walk from the guesthouse. The trail offers an hour of incredible views of the entire island and takes you to the enchanting beaches of Galheta and Praia Mole. The 'natural pools' trail is wonderful and peaceful to walk, and it takes 30 minutes to get there from the guesthouse. CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT Check-in is between 2:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Check-out is 11:00 AM at the latest. We do NOT perform check-ins before or after these times. Please respect the schedule. PARKING THERE IS NO PARKING or car access on the mountain. There are several parking lots, public or private, located in the center of Barra Da Lagoa (all a 10-minute walk away). It is not dangerous to leave your car in public spaces, and I recommend taking advantage if you can find a public spot. Private parking charges a high fee during the summer season (between $30-$50 per day, with an extra charge if you leave the car overnight). OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION The location is not recommended for people with reduced mobility, as access is a bit difficult due to the stairs, and we also do not recommend bringing heavy luggage. You will be attended by my family. We are a kind and friendly family, and you can be sure that we will take care of your experience in the best way possible. We do not offer breakfast. We do not have private parking for our guests. When it rains, it will be necessary to hike on a wet and humid trail. We recommend bringing your umbrella if there is a rain forecast. In the summer, there are many mosquitoes on the island, so we recommend bringing repellent. We do not have a washing machine. We do not accept pets. No loud noise after 10:00 PM. Guests receive a room key. You are required to pay a R$20 fee if the key is lost. Barra Da Lagoa does not have ATMs. We recommend that you go to Lagoa de Conceição to withdraw money. In the summer/high season months, there is a lot of traffic, and travel times will be much longer than expected. Ja Other things to note IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING: -- The trail is a little rustic and uneven so we don’t recommend bringing large heavy suitcases. -- Check in between 14:00pm - 22:00pm Check out by 11:00am. -- There is no car parking or car access on the mountain. There are several parking lots, both public/free or private/payable, located in town centre (10 minute walk). -- Guests receive one room key. You are required to pay a R$20 fee if key is lost or damaged. - - Barra Da Lagoa does not have cash withdrawal machines, but 98% business accept payment by credit/debit card. ****Travel times are much longer in high season (December - March) due to the influx of travellers. The population triples in summer.
