This is a listing for a fully renovated, traditional stone cottage that can host up to 6 people, in the traditional village of Damoulianata in Kefalonia island. The boasts traditional stone walls, stunning view to the mountains and is at a distance of 5km from award winning Agia Eleni beach and 15min. from Lixouri, the second largest city of the island. An excellent place to experience the interesting sights of Palliki region. Find tranquility and peace! The space Please note--- We set this as a 2week minimum stay property, however if you wish to rent it for less, send us a message to see if we could accommodate you. The space is a traditional stone cottage which was recently renovated and spreads over two stories. It has been renovated into a loft cottage, to take full advantage of the extra air and light a loft provide. There is also a private garden attached to the property and an extra private parking spot, so you can park your car. On the ground floor you will find the living room, the open plan kitchen and the bathroom. THE LIVING ROOM Our living room is fitted with a large sofa which can very easily be turned into a double bed, thus sleeping up to 2 extra people. We have listed it as a house hosting 5 people, as we feel it might not be very comfortable for 2 people to sleep on the sofa-bed, however it is possible - especially if it is 2 children. We also have two comfortable armchairs and a large family table to enjoy your meals. From the living room double doors you can go out to our private garden, which again has stunning mountain views. You can enjoy your meal in the garden if you wish so. THE KITCHEN Our open plan kitchen has been renovated to a high standard. It is a large U-shape kitchen with real wood counter tops to give our cottage an English countryside style. There are plenty of drawers and all modern fittings in our kitchen, as well as a lovely porcelain sink. You can find a fridge a kitchennete to cook your meals, a hob, a kettle, a toaster and a coffee maker and of course all utensils and crockery you could possibly need. This kitchen definitely has everything you could need in a holiday home. THE LOFT: Moving up the staircase, our ample loft accommodates comfortably up to 4 people. (there are always 2 more people who can sleep in the couch-pop up bed downstairs). The loft is separated in two spaces with the use of two very large wardrobes. There is plenty of room for you to store your clothes and belongings for a comfortable stay. Our loft boasts two floor to ceiling with skylight windows (one for each bedroom), which give you access to the wonderful and serene mountain views. We have a queen size bed and two single beds, so the two loft-bedrooms can comfortably sleep a family of 4. Our loft is also equipped with air conditioning, to ensure you can sleep well and stay cool in the hot month of August. On the loft you can also find two vintage extra comfortable armchairs, so that you can enjoy your morning coffee up on the loft, gazing at the wonderful mountain scenery from the window. THE BATHROOM: Our bathroom has a simple setup, with a shower a sink and a toilet and is also equipped with a washing machine so that you can wash your clothes while staying here. THE VILLAGE OF DAMOULIANATA Damoulianata is a traditional village which has a population of 135 people in the winter time, however in the summertime tourists prefer it as a destination. It boasts wonderful sunsets from the village's terrace, where people like to gather. It also has a magnificent restaurant with delicious home made Greek food, which gets visited by people from all over Kefalonia! It will give you the real feel of a Greek village, it's a closely knit community and a lovely and serene place to spend time in the summer. Ideal for families! FAMILY FRIENDLY Our house (and the village) is very family friendly indeed, and families can enjoy wonderful holidays. We would like to inform you however that due to the nature of the loft, it is not advisable to be visited by families with very young children, due to the risk of falling off the staircase and/or the loft railings. This is why we do not recommend families with children younger than 2 years old to rent this house. Guest access Kefalonia Cottage at Damoulianata is only 5km away from Agia Eleni beach (St.Helen). This is an award winning beach and there is even a Times article about it! Our house is also a short 15minute ride from Lixouri, Lixouri is the second largest city of the island. You can find anything you wish at Lixouri and it is a cosmopolitan vibrant city. Petani beach, a very famous beach in Kefalonia can also be reached in 15 minutes and Xi beach is very close by as well. You can use Kefalonia Cottage at Damoulianata as the perfect spot to enjoy and explore all that Paliki region of Kefalonia has to offer. The region where nature is truly wild and untamed and the region that is less touristy, therefore ideal for the true traveller that wants to experience Greek island life.
