The Coachman's House - Tradition meets modernity

Tradition meets modernity The Kutscherhaus, part of a historic farmstead, located in the charming wine village of Hattenheim am Rhein. The modern wooden house, clad with natural slate, stands on a historic vaulted cellar. The open living-dining area is equipped with a "kitchen workbench," dining table and 2-seater sofa. Bathroom with shower and toilet and an outdoor shower in the romantic courtyard. The sleeping area on the upper floor can be reached via a steep staircase (see picture). The space The coachman's house - old natural stone walls, oak wood planks, white walls. In the open-plan living and dining area on the ground floor, there is an old carpenter's workbench that has been converted into a kitchenette and provides a basic set of pots, pans, dishes, cutlery and glasses. A refrigerator, toaster, 2 induction plates, kettle and pad coffee machine are also available. A round dining table with 4 chairs and a 2-seater sofa complete the living area overlooking the visible courtyard with a small seating area, parasol and an original hot water outdoor shower. ⚠️ The existing fireplace must not be used for safety reasons!!! The shower room with toilet is adjacent to the living room on the ground floor. A staircase leads to the open gallery with a comfortable double bed (160 cm) and another sleeping area. Please note that the stairs are narrower and steeper than normal stairs. We therefore recommend caution when getting on and off. The coach house is less suitable for people with limited mobility because of the steep stairs. Another separate bed (90 cm) is available if guests do not want to share the double bed. A shelf offers space for clothes and other items, and under the ridge beam is a clothes hanger with hangers. On request, the romantic vaulted cellar with a table and benches is available for a cool wine on hot days, and the original barn is also available for socializing. You are welcome to play the old, somewhat out-of-tune piano. In the barn there are 2 bicycles, marked with "ICH GEHÖRE ZUM KUTSCHERHAUS". These can be used on YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITY. Guest access Parking is available on the street or in a large public parking lot nearby. For unpacking and packing, parking is of course available for a short time in front of the entrance. Other things to note Internationally known cultural events (such as the Rheingau Music Festival) and excursion destinations, great sights and much more promise unforgettable hours in the Rheingau. As a wine region, the Rheingau enjoys an excellent reputation nationally and internationally. The Rheingau also has something to offer in terms of culinary delights - lovingly run winegrowers' houses, estate taverns, restaurants with star gastronomy, wine stands on the banks of the Rhine - the Hattenheim wine stand with its barrels is our favorite. Whether walking a part of the Rheinsteig, cycling along the Rhine or driving to one of the famous castles and monasteries along the Rhine, the Rheingau is waiting to be discovered by you. Leisure tips for the region can be found listed by us in the Kutscherhaus and in abundance on the Internet. The world-famous Eberbach Monastery (passages of the film "The Name of the Rose" were filmed here) can be reached in less than 30 minutes on foot through the Hattenheim vineyards.
