The Lama House is an exceptional homestay above the hill town of Manali. Yomed Tulku, a Nyingma lama residing in Spiti Valley, designed this exquisite home on a land blessed by his guru with ancient Tibetan-Buddhist rites. The space This was once a centre of higher learning for chosen monks for four years, as it was powered and blessed by the positive and was favourable for meditation and learning. It's a place for open vistas, sun under the apple trees, cosy reading nooks, great coffee, and great company. You have a book to write, a painting to finish, need a break, like the mountains, want to watch the birds, watch flowers and vegetables grow - whatever is your heart's desire, The Lama House is good for it! By preserving the valley's remarkable beauty, the endangered ecosystem around it, and by creating a space for conscious living; this humble abode also allows for the development of the local inhabitants. We care for your absolute comfort! To that effect, we provide: - Generator, Bukhari, Wi-Fi, fireplace, bonfire - Wardrobes, lockers, hangers - Iron, medical kit, mosquito repellent - Geysers, towels, toiletries - Secured parking space for up to 8 cars This is not a wheelchair-friendly property and pets are strictly forbidden. The Space: BEDROOMS - There are 4 spacious bedrooms - three on the ground floor and one on the first floor. - Each bedroom offers a fantastic view of the icy hills, lush gardens, and forested surroundings. - The bedrooms are equipped with a comfortable king-sized bed, heater, Wi-Fi and an ensuite bathroom. - Four of the bedrooms - 3 on the ground floor & one on the first offer Bukharis. - The second bedroom on the ground floor has an extra treat of a fireplace which can be availed at an additional cost. - Each bedroom has a designated workstation as well. BATHROOMS - There are 4 ensuite bathrooms- 3 on the ground floor and 1 on the first floor. - All bathrooms have geysers, towels and basic toiletries. - All bathrooms are well-ventilated. COMMON AREAS - There are two such expansive living rooms on each floor of this home. - The living room on the ground floor features a coffee/tea lounge and can comfortably seat up to 8 people. - The living room on the first floor with its lounge setting can accommodate up to 10 people. - Both living rooms are equipped with a heater and Wi-Fi. - The dining room, which is a component of the living area, accommodates up to 12 people, where you can wine and dine. - This home also features two common balconies where you can be engulfed with whiffs of the cool air or fancy a little reading. - A lovely lawn with equally lovely views of the mighty mountains covers up to 27000 square feet. - Guests can enjoy the peace and quietude of the surroundings here. - A night of stargazing on the terrace with a slight breeze to keep you company is definitely on the cards here. KITCHEN - Guests can access the kitchen premises for an additional charge of Rs.2000. - The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, oven, gas stove, refrigerator, purifier, toaster, mixer, grinder and an assortment of condiments & spices. - Crockery and cutlery are also available. FOOD - All meals are prepared by an in-house cook and can be provided on an A La Carte basis. - If the guest wishes to bring in their own chef, it can be availed at an additional cost of Rs.2000 per day. - Consumption of non.veg food is allowed. Guest access The guests have access to their rooms and common areas. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, guests may have restricted access to any shared amenities. During your stay The host is present at the property and is always accessible via call or message. A trained and responsible caretaker is present at the property to resolve any concerns and help you have a perfect stay. Other things to note STAFF ACCOMMODATION Staff accommodation is not provided at the villa. ACTIVITIES Within the property, guests are spoilt for choice with a variety of indoor activities they can choose from. Enjoy a competitive round of board games with your friends or family. Avid readers can choose from a classic collection of books in the library and choose a quiet nook of the balconies or the garden area for a good read. All the fitness enthusiasts sure do have a treat in store - we provide complimentary yoga sessions while on your stay here. ADD-ON SERVICES - The use of a fireplace in the bedroom can be availed at an additional cost of Rs.1000 for 1 hour. - If the guests wish to light up a bonfire on a chilly night, it can be availed at an extra charge of Rs. 1000 for 1 hour. - Outdoor activities like river rafting, paragliding, mountain and forest treks need to be pre-booked and are chargeable. - Prices may vary subject to availability and peak season rates. HOME TRUTHS While we do promise you a welcoming home and a great stay, here are a few things we’d like to mention so as to ensure there are no unpleasant surprises later! - This property is situated in a secluded area. - An in-house pet resides on the premises of the property.
