Room in Deco Apartment, Brunswick East

A large air conditioned room with firm queen spring mattress bed in a vintage apartment. Located right outside is a tram to the city just 20 minutes away. This area is known for its arts culture, live music, cafes and international food. The space The apartment is Deco in style and has polished floorboards and ornate ceilings, curtains and wooden blinds. Your room is medium sized and has a queen spring mattress bed and vintage furniture. The rest of the flat has a 1940's style tiled bathroom with a shower bath, a groovy little kitchen and a deco style lounge room with vintage furniture and bric a brac. The flat is located next to two major public transport routes. Tram 96 is just 30 metres away and takes you south to the city centre in 15-20 minutes or all the way to St Kilda beach in 45 minutes. Bus stops take you 5 mins east to funky bars, cafes and restaurants in High Street Northcote and 5 mins west to multicultural restaurants and fantastic thrify shops on Sydney Rd, Brunswick. The Lygon Street tram line that goes past Melbourne University is 10 minutes walk west. Sydney Road and its great thrift stores, middle eastern foods and a fashion district is within 20 minutes walk (world famous Dejour Jeans is located there). Taxi / Uber to/from Airport takes 25-30mins and costs 50-$60. The Airbus to/from Southern Cross is around $40 return and the 96 tram from/to my place is directly outside Southern Cross Station. Buy a tourist Myki pass for transport at the railway station for $10. Traffic sounds are normal for a room next to a main street but minimised by double windows. People who are light sleepers might not like this location but almost everyone has been ok with it, maybe 1 in 100 has a problem. The bands at the pub across the road can be heard sometimes but it is not loud at all and the music is mostly good :) I can help guests with information about the area. Just let me know your specific interest. I like talking with guests but I'm also mindful of their privacy. If guests spend all their time in their room that is cool with me too. Sometimes we all need a break from hectic travelling! Due to a bad experience with a guest giving me 1 star recently I have to ask people to understand this is an old building and not hospital level clean like a hotel room. It is cheaper than other places due to that reason. Anyway, it has lots of character :) This is a rare example of what Brunswick used to be like! Guest access Bathroom, loungeroom and kitchen is shared During your stay I'm home mostly but sometimes I may be working when you arrive so there will be directions for you to enter if I am not there.
