Larch Cottage: Newhouse Farm Cottages

Larch Cottage is one of nine Grade II listed barn conversions at Newhouse Farm Cottages, set within 30 acres of peaceful rural North Devon countryside. This spacious stone cottage is full of character with exposed beams, painted stone walls and high ceilings showcasing original roof trusses. Opening onto the lower courtyard, Larch enjoys shared outdoor seating and barbecue space, with plenty of grounds to explore, abundant wildlife and dark skies perfect for stargazing. The space Enter from the shared courtyard into a spacious, open-plan living, kitchen and dining area designed for relaxing stays. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you’ll need for a self-catering holiday while the living area overlooks the courtyard bird feeders where you may spot woodpeckers, nuthatches and bullfinches. Upstairs you’ll find the two bedrooms - one king and one twin - along with the family bathroom which has a shower over the bath. Larch is ideal for couples or families seeking a countryside escape. Families of all ages will love the outdoor play areas, featuring swings, slides, a trampoline, mud kitchen, den-building area and a 9-hole crazy golf course, plus plenty of lawn space for ball games. Our small fishing lake is also well stocked with carp, perch and tench. Guests have access to indoor shared facilities including a heated swimming pool (with counter-current jets), traditional sauna and games room. The pool, sauna and games room operate on a booking system, giving each cottage at least two private 45-minute sessions per day (except departure day). Footpaths wind down to the stream and lake, with quiet corners and peaceful picnic spots along the way. Our grounds are rich in wildlife with regular sightings of badgers, owls, hares and deer. We have 3 x 3-pin (13amp) sockets in the guest car park available for EV charging (extra cost applies). Guest access Guests have access to the whole cottage and there is plenty of parking in our guest car park. Other things to note Please note that Larch Cottage no longer has a wood-burning stove. If cosy evenings by the fire are important to you, Beech Cottage currently includes one.
